That's somewhat pricey, I got mine for 16.99.

Exactly my point, $19 a sixer is not a bad price. At that rate it would be $29 a sixer.

just picked up a sixer in Flowery Branch, Georgia- $13.99. also bomber of clownshoes spacecake ($6.99), Pineapple Spacecake ($6.99)- Oskar Blues Fugli ($9.49- colorado brewery), Highland Hawaiian Lounge Juice $10.49 and Green Flash Palate Wrecker $11.99. -compared to some of the prices listed here- I guess I should feel lucky- thank you HomeTown Spirits in Flowery Branch!
I have never had any of the previous Enjoy by cause they have always sold out before I could get them. Having one now- I dont have a "point of reference" but this is a decent beer. Doesnt blow my socks off or anything- but really good. More on the piney side- I tend to like the juicy ones- just had a Burial Brewery's Surf Wax prior to this and totally digging that. Perhaps I shouldnt judge this as I am mixing different IPAs in one sitting (Hockey game- Pitt is blowing it out 4--0)- anyway- for what its worth- seems GA is a bit cheaper than other spots- maybe you guys have big alcohol taxes?

Picked up two sixes of this yesterday here in Dallas. Cannot wait to dig into them tonight. So glad that Stone put my favorite beer by them in cans.

Except they only have to pay 8.99$ to have the beer rather than 19$. Maybe the consumer doesn't want 6 of them. That's were the bomber format pays off.

I'll gladly sell a can from my pack for $6 then. An even better arrangement for those who enjoy paying a premium to get less of a product.

The fact that the bomber format is more expensive does not make the six pack a fair price IMO. I think the price of this beer has always been inflated or a bit ridiculous. If you have no problem paying the price, then more power to you. I guess at about $3 a beer its a great deal if you consider going to a bar and paying $3 or $4 for a coors or bud.

Similar, cheaper options I can find in local stores: (double ipas I can think of off the top of my head.) I usually opt for regular ipa's which I can find even cheaper

    Lagunitas Sucks
Melvin Double IPA's- Citradamus, 2x4, etc.
    Alpine Pure Hoppiness
    Odd 13 papa Silenus
    Port Brewing Mongo
    Hopslam
    Hoptimum
    Great divide Hercules
    Bear Republic double ipa's

Those examples are all good beers. (Haven't had the Port or the Odd 13 but I'll take your word on it ) but when you say cheaper you are literally talking a couple bucks. For a guaranteed super fresh great beer I'll pay that couple extra. When you buy te ones on your list you have no idea how fresh they are. Cheers!

I would argue you can catch any of these releases as fresh as enjoy bye. A week or two makes no difference whatsoever in your flavor. don't fool yourself there. And some of these could easily be $5 or $6 less or more. Don't get me wrong. I'm not knocking enjoy by, I just think prices are getting a little out of hand here. (not just this beer but this is a good example.)

Yeah I think people are seriously getting confused about freshness (especially with IPA's). I know some IPA's sit on shelves for quite a while, but most are shipped very soon right after fermentation/bright tanks. Also, a couple of weeks difference does not make a big difference when we're talking about your palate. Even after a few months an IPA can still be extremely fresh tasting.

Isn't Hopslam at this price point? Only Hopslam is...not good beer?

I think that's a pretty broad brush to paint with on this topic. Highly dependent on the palate preferences and hops in question. YMMV

Plenty o' 6-pack boxes all over here in Union county NJ. Opened my initial can this evening, I thought a lemon bomb burst when I popped it. Slight haze but more important, just like the best Enjoy Bys, the alcohol is DANGEROUSLY well hidden. Waaaaay better IMO than the last Unfiltered. Two thumbs up and def gonna buy more.

I agree. I am sure it's because this one was not brewed in Virginia.
