I'm a big fan of Ruination, but in what world is $17-$20 a six pack considered a low cost ipa?

Where is this? $14 in SD.

I pay $6.99 per 22 oz. that's lower cost than a lot of what I see.

I'd rather have the 20 dollar six pack.

Decent DIPA...nothing even close to groundbreaking and frankly somewhat unbalanced. "Enjoy By" certainly treads the line of being overly sweet. I'm certainly not regretting purchasing a bottle, but I'd probably regret buying two. There are many better brews in this style that are readily available in the Chicago area. Once was enough for me. If given a choice, I'd rather drink a Ruination from Stone and a number of other DIPA's from other breweries before revisiting this brew.

that's the same per ounce price as a 6pack that costs $22.87.

ha...true. I wasn't doing the math. but anyway, $6.99 is lower than most 22 oz. bottles I have picked up. though I guess most of those aren't actually ipas.

I know this is your opinion, but that's pretty high praise. I don't even think Enjoy By is better than ordinary Ruination, 10th Anniversary Ruinination, Sublimely, other Stone Anniversary brews, (haven't tried 16th yet), IRS, Double Bastard, numerous Vertical Epics, off the top of my head. Not to mention I can name at least 10-20 better DIPA's from other breweries, but they weren't as heavily hyped. Good, but fairly mundane, at best.

Double dry hopped ruination, self righteous, and lucky bastard (when it was fresh)......mmmmmmmm

Haha if you can't hide it I'd "settle" for another Nelson (too bad you were just at Alpine)! Would never want to torture a fellow BA with his own fridge.

$11.99/6er at my local Total. Hence, OG Ruin is one of my gotos. That said, EnjoyBy is MUCH more complex than the one-note Ruin, and Ruin10 is simply my fav beer ever. Fortunately (there IS a god), Ruin10 is still available for growler fills at Stone (drinking it now: slightly faded, but still the most complex, flavorful, juicy-dank IPA ever brewed, IMO). And EnjoyBy should be available for growler fills for awhile more.
And I suspect that WHATEVER the 3 markets are for the next distribution of EnjoyBy, it will still always be available at the Stone stores on tap and for growlers (correct me if I'm wrong, Stonies). Thank God I live in SoCal.

There are still bottles of Ruin10 at Barons in Temecula, just in case you were wondering. Cheers.

Greater Boston area. One place I go to has it at $16.99, and that's the cheapest I've ever seen it. I've seen it as high as $20.99 for a six pack. I wish I could find it for $14, but than again if I lived in SD I probably spent most of my time drinking Duet and Nelson. One of the highlights to my trip to SD in March was going to the Alpine brewery. Also had some good nights at the Neighborhood bar.

In NJ, where were you guys able to find Enjoy By. I've searched high and low and haven't found it. I'm dying to try it, though.

Hunterdon posted a list of everyone they delivered Enjoy By to: http://www.hunterdonbrewing.com/?p=6168

I'd suggest calling places before driving to find them, as most are likely sold out already.

they had it on tap at copper mine, but it may be kicked by now. though I've got to say, there was definitely a difference between the one I had on wednesday in california and the one on sunday in jersey. still really good and I'd definitely recommend it, but it had faded a bit even in that short a time.
