Honestly, sad to say, I've never been a huge Enjoy By fan - that is until the Enjoy By Unfiltered, which was amazing. As we've seen with some recent fruited IPAs - I'm looking at you, Citradelic - this can be a hazardous game. That said, I'd be interested to try it.

Its good. I liked it much better than the original. But, I do like addition of some fruits to my IPA's

It's interesting to note we've moved on from grapefruit to tangerine. Who's putting bets on what's next? Personally I'm hoping for Kiwi, that could be interesting...

Seconded. Never really liked the original. The unfiltered was spectacular!

Wow, Stone is the last brewery I thought would be getting in on this fruited IPA trend.

I just never imagined Stone going that route so I'm surprised. To put it in perspective I was not surprised at all when breweries like Ballast Point and Green Flash started fruiting their beers. I also seem to remember Greg Koch being strongly against fruiting Stone beers but I can't provide a reference for that, I just remember reading it somewhere so that could be wrong.

The craft beer market is getting pretty competitive and for those breweries that have products that cater to the beer geek (e.g., BA crowd) part of the craft beer market is it very much about the ‘latest and greatest’ new thing.

If we confine the discussion to the Enjoy By series of beers it was:

    · First creating a beer where a very short best by duration (35 days) was explicitly part of the label: “Enjoy by (insert date here)

    · Next came an Enjoy After beer which was brewed using Brett

    · And then the unfiltered version so that Stone can compete with the newfangled “New England” style IPAs

    · And now they have a fruit version of Enjoy By

I am confident that they have already formulated ideas on the next ‘new’ version of an Enjoy beer. What do you think will be next? Maybe a Enjoy By Habanero?

The pressure is really on the craft breweries to produce new products to keep the fickle beer geek market happy.

    Cheers!

I agree, everything you say is true. Just in my eyes I like to think of Stone as being trend setters not followers. I probably have unrealistic expectations though because Stone holds a special ace in my heart as it's the brewery that first made me fall in love with craft beer back when they first opened in my hometown of San Diego. They blew my mind back then and still continue to today and especially this 20th anniversary year.

Right? A small part of me hopes it will go the route of xocoveza and they'll bring it back soon on a more regular basis. It was a stellar, stellar IPA.

Unfiltered and the regular are both very good. I honestly don't think unfiltered brought out that much more in the beer though. It was hazier of course, but I didn't find it better. That being said I liked them both equally.
Not crazy about any fruited IPAs yet, but I'll probably try it.

Cant forget the Enjoy By Black IPA. I guess that sort of qualifies as another variant

EDIT: The unfiltered was the best one. It really was great
