I just saw the regular stone enjoy by 2-15-15 on the shelf this weekend. I guess the store doesn't under stand how the date is supposed to work

I agree with this. Fruit added in Gose, Berliners and Lambics...fine. Adding Fruit to a Fruity DIPA is a bit Absurd in my opinion.

Your drinking experience was similar to mine. I didn't notice any real difference other than the unfiltered version had a bit of haze. Compared to the so called "New England" style IPAs it was basically clear.

    Cheers!

Unfortunately I did forget the Enjoy By Black IPA; likely because I did not drink that version.

The fact that Stone decided to produce this version is a bit vexing to me since it seems to me that the popularity of Black IPAs has basically waned right now.

    Cheers!

I agree with you, yet I wouldn't buy any of these Products (Based on Trends...I know it's only business). I'm that Hardcore Beer Slob that likes his Enjoy By with Water, Yeast, Hops (an assault of Hops) and Malts. Didn't purchase the Brett DIPA Either.

Well, the good news for you is that Stone is still producing 'regular' Enjoy By beers from time to time.

    Cheers!

I know, but I don't like the future of Commercial Beer. Next is going to be Stone Enjoy By NE Style Turbid DIPA...in Limited Quantities. I only see this as an escalation.

As long as you can obtain 'traditional' craft beer is there really an issue here!?!

    Cheers!

This was amazing when I had it on draft a few months back and I don't like any of the ballast point fruited IPA's

I hope. If I start seeing Trappistes Rochefort 10 Infused with Chocolate and Plums...I am going to commit Suicide.

Will give this one a try, I believe, if done right, citrus added to IPAs can be very tasty.

When it comes to Stone, I'll err on the side of trusting them enough to try just about anything. I think the quality of their offerings is excellent and I appreciate their business ethic and the way they treat their customers. I generally like the Enjoy By series and it will be interesting to compare this one to Pineapple Sculpin, which to me was disappointing.

It's interesting to see the power of marketing at work. Unfiltered Enjoy By was barely discernible from the regular version. The power of the mind is very real. On the topic of the Tangerine variant, I'll at least try it once to see what I think.

IMO there is absolutely no doubt about that!

Still reason for them to try this dontcha think? If a business recognizes this aspect doesn't it make sense for them to make changes accordingly? At the end of the day it is all about selling beer from Stone's perspective.

    Cheers!

Sometimes, Stone seems to revel in the absurd. So, any absurdity here should come as a surprise to no one who knows what Stone is all about. I for one look forward to trying this.
