So Stone used to have the best value events (outside of their anniversary party, which has seemingly always been stupidly expensive), but unfortunately it seems as if they're catching on to market value these days.

Personally, I have '03-'11 and was considering driving down to San Diego for the event. $150 is pretty steep though - especially since I have nearly all the beers (and would only want to try '02 for the tick). Also, makes it really hard to convince my less beer inclined friends to splurge on it.

I know there are a few folks out there with comparable selections of the VE. Any interest in throwing a separate bottle shore around that time?

i figured it would be around that price range, im not surprised at all.

and you know these beers have all been properly stored too! i have a feeling there will be many disappointed people out there that have bought bottles on ebay haha

For $150 there better be a booth giving out free ZJ's.

$150 doesn't seem shockingly high given the number of beers, food pairing, and that other things will be available for purchase. I mean, that sure beats the cost for Sour & Bitter (although not the quality of beer...).

I was expecting some butthurt over the dinner the night before, gotta love a raffle to get into an expensive dinner!

i was told about the event & price from a good friend months before hand, not surprised about this at all. though as a person who has most of the vertical besides 02 & 04, it makes it harder to pull the trigger. the deciding factor, too broke to buy a ticket :slight_frown:

Dinner is basically the same price as the event if you assume that 20 tickets are enough to get you a winning ticket. A bit of a gamble, but not that far off the mark I would think.

Depends on how they stored it. I'm assuming Stone just did normal cellaring temps, but I had a bottle recently that had been waxed and refrigerated its whole life and it was very easily the best VE I've had. That kind of care is just about impossible to come by though.
