Just a heads up to all Pacific BA's

I spoke to a Stone rep on Friday and he said that the Espresso IRS will be in stores starting Tuesday. He said that the first run will only be one case per store no matter the size of the store with a bigger volume coming a few weeks after that. Also, the regular IRS will be released this week too.

I'll be curious to compare and contrast this not only with regular RIS, but with Alesmith Speedway Stout since they supposedly are using Ryan Brothers coffee (though I guess it could be different beans...).

Some stores received it this morning.

The coffee is definitely there, but it isn't a coffee nuclear bomb like some of the recent SoCal style coffee beers like Tovarish. Still keeps the overall feel and flavor of the original IRS.

As a lover of coffee stouts I find this beer amazing and far better than the usual IRS. Based off one glass at the Pasadena location.

How busy was the Pasadena store today? Any idea how much Enjoy by they have? 5/17 is my brother's birthday so I was thinking of driving up from Orange but want to make sure it's worth it.

Can't help but think this is more than likely a precursor to a future QM release.

If it's anything like the last few releases, that stuff will be in stock all day at the very least.

Not bad at all. Was in and out with 2x each of the IRS +/- coffee, 2x Enjoy By and a Growler of enjoy by (for <$50) in 10 minutes. Went at 1 pm. YMMV with the after work crowd.

One bottle limit at my nearby store. I thought that was strange.

Not sure what the stone store limit is, but any other store who received it only got 1 case for the week

Big price difference between each bottle though. I havn't tried mine out yet.

Definitely. I felt the Stone RIS w/ coffee was very similar to the base beer, just a little more coffee in the nose and a bit more bitter and lingering in the finish, very good, but Speedway is just so damn smooth.

The Espresso version is really good and amazing for the price. Can't wait for the eventual bourbon aged (QM) version!
