I just picked up two bombers of one of my favorites... Stone IRS ($5.99 a bottle!)...but I noticed that one was marked 2012 and the other (the more common) 2013. Has anyone detected a difference between the two years in taste?

2012 is slightly less roasty. Really, the italics don't do this enough justice.

Having a vertical stretching from 2002-2013, I can say with confidence that it gets better with age. It is a TAD hot at '13 but slowly gets more mellow and creamy, with the roasted coffee goodness showing more with a couple of years on it. Then shit gets funky and fruity, haha. Just the way I like it.

Long story short, 2012 is better than 2013.

I agree 2012 is better The 2013 would be better with age toasty though but not enough coffee taste that i like in a ris.
