Stone Imperial Russian Stout 2012!

Sooooo good. Mouthfeel, Nose, Taste... It lingers forever, and the flavor keeps changing as it lingers. FANTASTIC with a good cigar.

 

I love this beer! I just can't believe that I STILL can't find 2012 in the Grand Rapids area though. I found some 2008 at Martha's Vinyard a few months ago, but other than that, 2012 has just recently surfaced in Kalamazoo at Drakes. The 2012 was on sale for 7.39 a bottle. I'd pay that for this brew any day! I'm going to drink one of my '08s this weekend, can't wait!

 

Between $5.99 and $6.30 in Reno... The one I drank the other night was ridiculous.

 

Where are you going that has something priced $6.44? I want to go there and giggle.

I'll see if I can get another bottle this year, but I had to drive 45 min. across state borders to get my 2011 bottle. Speaking of which, I need to crack that open sometime.... Anyone have any advice on how long to age it before it's really at its prime?

 

A-friggin-men. I've been stalking Siciliano's, International Beer and Wine, Martha's, can't find it.

 

I find this so crazy man!!! Think of how long this beer has been released... It's even been in Kalamazoo at Drake's for like 3 weeks now and it's STILL not here. Last Friday I asked at Siciliano's if they think it's going to pass them by this year, and they still gave a half assed answer. Sucks man. I grabbed a few from Drakes, but I was hoping I wouldn't have to treat them like such a commodity and I would be able to drink them a little more freely.

 

Shoot, I've been drinking some 2008s and they are still spectacular!

 

My 2012's are already beginning to taste off - less of sweetness, more of bitterness, like medicinal bitterness. And it's only been a month in the fridge, so I'm not sure what went wrong in that time - and certainly very confusing considering it's been stored at 40 degrees or thereabouts. Any one else have issues with the brew this year?

 

No issues here.. I've gone through 4 bottles, and 2 growlers since it dropped.

 

I've not experienced any issues with the 2012. I had a bottle last Saturday night and it no less than superb. Fortunately, I have been finding a lot of it on the shelves throughout NWI.

Still 3+ cases locally and I keep tempting fate by not stocking up... I guess I feel over-Stoned sometimes.

 

i looked at the one bottle they had left round here for about a month before grabbing it.very glad i did
