Loving it...went through a twelver this weekend.

Great excuse to revisit an old favorite that usually gets passed over these days.

12oz cans right? I love cans. 16oz would have been sweet too!

I remember reading this article along time ago and to finally see it come to fruition is great, these cans are extremely crushable and will be a staple in my fridge.[IMG]

haven't sampled the cans yet but agree with this sentiment. bought a fresh sixer a month or two ago and was as impressed as ever. so solid and a true classic...really the beer that got me into the scene in the first place.

I haven't seen the cans yet but this thread did inspire me to revisit this beer, haven't had it in ages prior. Solid stuff! Very much a classic West Coast IPA for sure and while I do lean a little more towards the East Coast/English/whatever stuff these days, I still enjoyed it.

And hopefully the cans don't have the date labeling issues the bottles do, in pretty much the same batch I found bottles that had the very clear bottled on/best by dates and bottles where they were nowhere to be found. The etching at the bottom was present, though, and that saved the day (I was buying a few singles to try and not a full 6 pack).

The outside of my 12 pack box had an enjoy by date and the cans were stamped on the bottom with both a canned on date and enjoy by date. Both spots were clearly marked and easy to read.

This will all depend on your tastes, though. I gotta admit that after having the second bottle a day after the other my palate was tired of it already. I put this in the same category as Torpedo: many people love it but it's a one and done for me and I won't want to have it again for a while.

But again, a solid beer for sure and if you're looking for a classic West Coast IPA you couldn't go wrong with this beer.

I agree its becoming more like torpedo but a more intense hop and more expensive. Torpedo can get old after two in a row. If I'm not mistaken the stone ibu is higher than torpedo. I'm very satisfied with stones IPA but again got to have something different . My name is upsbeernut and I'm an IPA freak

Yep you are correct, Stone IPA is 77 IBUs and Torpedo is 65. Maybe it's the Magnum + the malts used but something about the combination in those beers really wears my palate out quickly I have found.

I agree and the DIPAs, while they have a higher IBU on paper, are way better to me because the heavier malt is there to balance everything out.
