Jeff, have you homebrewed with these hops paired? I know that some of the vendors where I shop sell Mandarina Bavaria (rather pricy) but I have never seen Hallertau Cascade. Are Hallertau Cascade readily available in the US?

    Cheers!

No Jack, had that combination in Bavaria. Spital Pale Ale.

Edit - to be correct that is under Spital's " Manufaktur" label.

Whether it's available in the US is a question for Google, but it's readily available in almost all online homebrew shops in Germany. I haven't worked with it so I can't pass judgement, but I know many Craft Brewers in Germany use due it's being cheaper and more readily available that it's American cousin.

Tony, maybe a Mandarina Bavaria/Hallertau Cascade hopped beer is in your future?

    Cheers!

P.S. Have you tasted the Spital Manufaktur Pale Ale that Jeff mentioned? If so, what are your thoughts?

I am not an expert, just a beer lover. I actually registered to post here in this particular thread - this beer is not as good anymore and I noticed immediately. Whatever it "had" is not there anymore, and it's no longer one of my favorites, a shame! I remember waiting years for Stone products to reach my area.

Just curious, will any of the Berlin beers make it stateside? I'd love to try all of them, and do a side by side tasting!

How 'bout you visit Stone in Berlin, bring your American Stone beers with you so I can drink them, and we'll both compare them together? Nah, just kidding. I don't even live in Berlin. It's too far for me.

We bring some kegs over from time to time for various events and for tapping at some of our select locations. So while you may be able to do a side-by-side taste if you pay us a visit, we don't have any plans to distribute Berlin-brewed cans here in the States. (For now, at least.)

It's great, if you haven't picked it up yet your commitment comes into question hahaha Cheers BA

I'm rather tired of this. This is another HUGE step down from stone. Instantly tasting this I knew it was off. Then I saw the 1.1. Stone has gone from my favorite brewery to I hate to say it, but a brewery I might just pass on going forward.

The original was better, ive yet to have any of stones updated recipes that I thought were better than the original (IPA, ruination, pale ale).

I haven't had IPA 1.1 yet, but I thought Ruination 2.0 was a huge step up from the original. As I delve further into their lineup, I become more impressed with them over time. I am curious though, what makes this one inferior to the original?

Maybe it was from the new Richmond brewery? Everything I've had from there has tasted off.

How recently have you had a Stone beer from RVA?

    Cheers!

It was from there. If that's it, I would be pretty happy as that could be fixed.

It tastes the exact same as the older version to me, and it is delicious.
