Ruination, served very cold. I usually like IPAs / DIPAs slightly warmer than fridge cold, but Ruination has to be COLD for me to really enjoy. Stone IPA is terrific as well, but with both bottles sitting there, probably going to grab the Ruination first. Then come back for seconds...

Guys, thanks for all the input. But given the diversity of answers, it looks like I am going to have to get both and put them to the taste test myself. I could definitely think of worse scenarios.

You are spoiled, sir. Stone IPA $13. Ruination $14/4 pack. I love PA...

But as to the topic, I'd grab IPA first it offered....

i dont buy either because both are close dated or past date for freshness and i have so many other ipa/2ipa that are so much better

You could keep an eye out (or simply use their BeerFinder, it's on there) for the new mixed 12 pack. It was just released at the beginning of the month, so it should (hopefully) contain fresh bottles of both.

Based on recent times having both, I now have to say I enjoy the IPA over Ruination. Used to be the opposite.

Long time lurker who just created an account. I have used this site for quite awhile and appreciated all the time you guys put into the reviews. They have been very helpful and educational.

Regarding Stone, I love both and I choose based on how much I plan on drinking in a particular session. If I'm having just one or two, I'll pick the Ruination.
If it's Saturday night and college football is on,for example, I'll settle in with the IPA's.

My favorite Stone is the Enjoy By, but I also drink the AB and DAB. The Stone Ruin10 was one of the best brews I have ever had.

Technically it is not a DIPA, unless Union Jack and a gazillion other 7.5 ABV IPAs are too

Definitely Ruination. The IPA is fairly boring in the field of standard IPAs out there.

Ruination was 7.7% but changed ahwile back to 8.2%. So at 8.2% I would absolutely call it a DIPA.

I was just telling my co-worker and fellow hop loving drinker that of all the many IPAs and DIPAs along with seasonal releases the two beers I always go back to are Stone IPA and Ruin.. no matter what its the beer I really like and always want. They nailed those two perfectly in my opinion. If I had to stick with one forever it would be IPA but man do I love Ruin.

    I stand corrected.
