The distro up here in St. Cloud got the Espresso Wednesday. The beer manager at my local shop told me earliest he could get it is Friday. I went in last night and the distro is holding it til Monday for a statewide release. Booerns, no Espresso this weekend, but I did get Great Divide Chocolate Oaked, and Espresso Oaked Yetis.

Who else is excited to be drinking this?

I picked up a bottle of this in Florida last week and it is in the car with my parents on the way back. Also got a Lucky Bastard along with it. $6.99/bottle in the Orlando area as a price comparison. Now I'm off to google this Randal device.

I haven't had a chance to hit any stores this week to check, but did this ever happen? At the time this thread was started, I had heard that it was being held and released during Craft Beer Week, but was wondering if this had really come out this week instead.

Mr mn Ryan was kind enough to brew this concoction at our last tasting... Since then ive used my French press with similar results, however the mesh on the strainer is a bit fine, resulting in knocking out most of the carbonation. Fun and easy way to raise whalez in 30 minutes!

You are correct, my store thought they could get it this last Monday. I just realized today that the reason to hold it til this coming Monday is the American Craft Beer Week.

Just to update this, Stone Espresso IRS has definitely been hitting stores around the Twin Cities this week. $9.99 seems to be the most common price. That seems high to me, especially considering that it is supposed to be the ame price as regular IRS. But I actually haven't bought regular IRS since moving here, so maybe that is how much is normally charged for that beer, as well.

For some reason IRS, the past two years, has been $9.99 here. I think the first year it was available locally (2011), it was $7.99/8.99, which is more inline with what I've seen it go for around the rest of the country. You would think the distributor & retailers would realize that since the 2012 is still on the shelves at a large number of locations, that the price point is a little too high for what it is.

Ouch @ $9.99. It was $6.49 or maybe even $6.29 when I grabbed some in IA.

Regularly around $5.99 around CA, with everyone knowing at least one place that sells RIS at 4.99. Given that this seems consistent at the retail level, my guess is that the padding is happening at the local distro level.

6.99 for IRS at south lyndale. I imagine when espresso come it will be the same price
