In my Chicago visit over the weekend, I found it at the Binnys in Oak Park I believe. Drank it when I got back to Michigan...a very good imperial stout with very, very, very small amounts of mint flavors.

Edit: check that...it was there, but I bought mine at the Binnys on Clybourne. Or Planet Vav or whatever you geeks call it!!

Really? It's a Stone collab, which usually means average beer.

I had it at Small Bar Logan Square and saw it at The Bad Apple if you're looking to just have a taste.

Ok guys, here's the full scoop:

Windy City sold a little bit before being informed by the ILCC & Stone that there is another beer registered in the state with the same name, so they have to pick up stuff that hadnt yet sold and send it all back to Stone. So if you see it, grab it, because it'll be gone shortly.

In that situation will the beer come back once the registration issue is solved or will it be gone never to return again?

That i dont know. It wouldnt be worth it to ship it right back to Chicago, especially for only 30someodd cases, so if it were my choice, i wouldnt send it it back, i'd want to recoup my losses from having it trucked back to Cali ASAP, so i'd sell it at my restaurant (Aka the Bistro and Gardens.)

If you feel like dishing out the dough Plainfield Tap House has 12oz bottles/$10. Haven't seen it in any bottle shops tho.

Passed on it tonight because of the price -- wish I'd known it would probably be my only chance to get it!

Fischman's has it. The mint was bizarre. Was not a fan.

Who has the other Mint Chocolate Imperial Stout? Nothing on BA other than Stone's.
Has anyone seen this in the West burbs?

I've been turning that over and over in my head trying to figure it out. My guess is maybe someone registered it for CBC a few years ago.

Revolution is in discussions with Iron Fist Brewing about trademark issues and when they brought a beer into our home market with Stone, we requested that it be pulled to avoid confusion. Stone and Windy City were very cooperative and responsive and have a great appreciation for what's at stake. We all decided the best thing to do for now is to pull the beer out of Illinois so the trademark discussions can continue. Protecting your brand is not always the most fun thing to do, but it is a necessary part of the business. Cheers.
