Browns don't get enough love. I'm curious.

    http://www.stonebrewing.com/spotlight/muttbrown/

Stone brewers Drew Neldon and Steve Via won this year’s annual in-house Stone Spotlight Series brewing competition with this hefty brown ale—an impressive result considering that one of them had never encountered a brown ale he liked before tasting this one. Given layers of flavor from Vienna, Victory and Chocolate Wheat Malts, and warming, refined sweetness from Honey Malt and turbinado sugar, it’s a rich and soothing beer brewed with respect to traditional English methods and New World innovation. The British-American bulldog of the craft beer world? Perhaps. Best in Show? Absolutely.

Sounds like a winner to me, will definitely be keeping my eyes open for this one should it see Ohio.

I can tell you this beer kicks ass. I agree browns don't get enough love. I thought this was beautiful and balanced. Same with Jupiter, but in a different light. Browns can have a glorious mouthfeel and balance that a lot of other styles just ignore. Pilsner is another underrated style. All flaws will show through a pilsner

The beer is great. Stone has always made great brown ales

Good beer. Not hoppy or in your face so it won't get much love. I did find it on the sweeter side with a nice creamy body, sweet vanilla flavor and chocolate. If I where to criticize I would say a little more roast would really make it great, but I love a good roast flavor, just my preference.

I have seen this a couple places in San Diego ($8.39), so I pulled it out of my refrig and will taste it right here on the Tonight Show. First, it's really dark brown. Flavor is so intense. Do they put licorice in this stuff? that's the main taste along with the ubiquitous Stone hop-handed bitterness. It's so sweet. Tastes more like a highly-flavored Porter than any Brown I've encountered. Dark and dirty. Over and out.

I'm in. Always liked browns (not the football team). Goes back to the 80's when finding anything beyond a pilsner or lager was a challenge.

This delivered. If it didn't have a $10 price tag in my area, I'd buy more.

One of the best browns I've had. Lots of flavors perfectly balanced. If more browns were like this, there'd be a lot of love for the style

Admittedly I have walked by it a few times at my local beer shop ($8.99), there is still a full row that has been sitting there. I've been curious, my curiosity will eventually have me pick one up.
