Got a sixer of this today and it's really good. I took a minute to decide between this and CitruSinensis and went for this, glad I did! Another great beer from Stone.

Had some on tap at Duckworths in Charlotte yesterday. This was impressively well-balanced: malty, sweet, juicy, hoppy, and IPA bitter in a nice mix. I find most black IPAs to be gimmicky, with the emphasis on icky (although a few are great) so I was worried a red IPA would fail too. Glad I was wrong...

It's a great beer and I'm really pleased they decided to release it again and more widely.

Tried Pataskala Red yesterday. No surprises here but yet another solid Stone release but I would take their Unfiltered IPA over it time and time again. Just a style preference opinion, I guess.

[IMG] Hoppy , bitter but a little sweet at the end, highly gulpable

It definitely has a good malt character to balance the hops. It's not just an IPA, it's a Red IPA with the German Red X malt that gives it the "sweet" malty backbone described as biscuit and toffee by Stone.

Really well balanced....not overly sweet, but the malt is definitely there.

Well crafted offering, something kind of unique

Bought a sixer of this a couple weeks ago, was hesitant because of the price, but liked it so much I bought another sixer this week. It's in the same world as Nugget Nectar, style-wise, and IMO Stone has done a very good job hitting the right notes in the "imperial Amber/Red" or "Red IPA" category - that is, it's plenty malty but with good juicy and bitter hops to stand up to that sweetness. I'm hoping they add this to their year-round lineup, or at least make it a recurring seasonal release.

Had this last night and it's a very enjoyable beer. The Red X malt definitely adds a unique dimension to the beer that I liked.

Boy, is it good! I just picked up some more. I hope this isn't a one-off for Stone!

I was looking for this today at my local beer store. None to be found unfortunately. I have yet to see this in St Louis.

This finally made it to SF and it was worth the wait as it was bottled on the 6th. Very much looking forward to trying this one.

Tried this one on tap and in the bottle. Maybe my palette is different but I preferred the bottled version over draught. Just picked up another sixer, which probably won't be my last one. Another wonderful offering from Stone!

One of the first Stone brews that wowed me in a while. It had a cool pineapple/mango taste that switched to strawberries midway. Very unique.
