Does anyone have any insight into the reason for the 33% price increase (at least in my area - St. Louis) for Stone's bomber releases lately? Stone IRS has gone from $5.99 in previous years to $7.99 this year, and now the Smoked Porter with Chipotle Peppers is $7.49 too where the Smoked Porter with Vanilla that was release late last year was only $4.99. Stone used to be a great economic choice, but now they are at the same price level as a lot of other quality beers - that I prefer over many of the Stone releases.

I haven't noticed a big jump in the bombers, they're normally around 7-8 bucks for me. But I've been bummed out by the nearly $13 price tag on the Go To IPA's :/

Sucks to be you. AB is $4.99 here in St. Paul. Some of the others get a little pricy, though.

...and I AM that arrogant! :grinning:

I know right? For a session IPA? Wack.

OP I've noticed a slight price bump around here too, dunno if it's 33% exactly (I think IRS went from 6.99 to 7.99 since last year).

Stone has always priced their stuff the opposite of other breweries, with relatively pricey four/six packs and cheaper bombers. Seems like the bombers are catching up though.

We can still get some bombers for about $5 - AB, IPA, and Smoked Porter come to mind. I've never seen IRS for less than $9 here, so quit complaining

Haven't noticed an increase in Massachusetts, and with the mixed 12 pack their 12 ounce bottles got a nice price reduction.

Most are 8.99 around here. Except Arrogant, porter, IPA which is 5 - 6

Also, i wish they would do IRS in 12oz again.

yeah, the box in western mass is right around 20.99. 6 packs of IPA are 10.99 normally, Ruination and sublimely are both 10.99 a 4 pack and arrogant bastard is $5+ a bomber. So it save a few dollars buying the mix 12. plus its beautiful in the fridge.

12-packs cost less than 6-packs per bottle, yes. But the cost of a 6-pack hasn't gone down at all.

Yeah, case prices of Stone's 6pks dropped from $40 a case to $34.50 wholesale so there should've been a drop in prices around Mass.

I paid $7.99 per bomber for Old Guardian and IRS last year. This year they were both $8.99.

The 4/20 batch of Enjoy By was $7.99 while I paid $6.99 for all previous releases that made it to OH.

I'm a Stone fan and always thought their bomber prices were good for the quality of the beer. I know it is only a dollar increase, but the price doesn't stand out now. Before it was too easy to pick the $7.99 Stone IRS bottle over the other Imperial Stout bombers (Hoppin Frog BORIS, Great Divide Yeti, etc...) sitting next to it that were $8.99. Now I just say forget it and grab a 4 pack of Founders Imperial Stout.

Same here. Went up a dollar fifty in less than a years time. It's now at $8.50 for most stone bombers. ( I'll pass) I was referring to stoen enjoy by which I started buying in september of 2013 an d then my last one on 4.20 of 2014. The burning rosids priced itself out of my back pack and so did a few others. I thought for that I can get a six pack of great lakes and that's what I bought.

$3.75 a bomber is about as good as it gets.

You can still find IRS, Double Bastard, OG etc. for $5.99-6.99 at some stores around the area, though, which leads me to believe the stores are marking it up.

The same thing has happened with stuff like Sierra Nevada at bottle shops vs. grocery stores. The bottle shops probably aren't selling as much of Stone/SN's year-round offerings anymore and are trying to compensate.

I'm pretty excited about Stone's cost decrease with the new mixed pack, personally

Unfortunately, for most of us, it's greed. Profit must be made for the shareholders. Fuel, wages, insurance, most costs increase. We pay more.
