Anyone know anything about arrival of this stuff into MA? I drank a bottle yesterday after my Thanksgiving feast in Iowa that I bought last weekend and absolutely have to get more. It isn't for everyone clearly based on ratings, but I have to get at least one more shot at it (although I fear the jacked MA price!)
I thought Craft Beer Cellar in Belmont twitted about it. Unless I'm confusing it with something else.
Redstone released it today. There was plenty of Crime & Southern Charred left earlier, but only one bottle of Punishment.
Prices are steep...I think it was 21+ at CBC, where I picked up Southern Charred (same price). This for 500ml too. Southern Charred is awesome by the way. One of the best beers I've had in awhile.
Craft beer cellar in Braintree had southern charred and crime ,but no punishment as of Saturday around 10:30 .
I was going to get this but I can't justify the $20 on a beer that might be too hot to properly enjoy.
It is extremely hot. I personally couldn't pick up any of the double bastard or bourbon flavor. It tasted like liquid scotch bonnet peppers to me. Not saying its bad, just VERY hot.
And this is a wise move...I think the pepper flavor is unique and amazing unlike most pepper beers made with jalapenos, but unless you're really into seriously hot peppers then you should probably stay away. If you need a benchmark for my opinion, I'm a person who actually likes a Ghost Face Killah with some mexican food...
Wow. I feel like Stone would have been better off making this a 375ml/12oz release. I would've probably went for it in that case.
