Yeah, $16 on the shelf would just allow me to pass but $16 behind the counter (feel like a tool if you pass after asking about it) really pisses me off. Sorry, I'm as bitter as this IPA but not as pleasant.

I think you should keep on doubting your taste buds.

that's awesome man. I skated when i was a teen then got into longboarding a couple years ago. Then I took a liking into craft beers. We should board and get a beer lol

I totally understand that. I once asked my local beer guy for a new IPA suggestion. He walked me back to the cooler and pulled out Sculpin, which had just come into the market. Awesome I thought, and silently gulped when he rang me up for $14.99 for a sixer. I have not bought it again, but felt like a jerk to say something then.

Sculpin goes for about 13.99 a sixer out here so that really isn't bad at all?

I guess my point was that I wasn't prepared to plunk that down on a sixer, but felt bad saying so after he went to the trouble of suggesting it and getting it for me.

Tried it on tap at a San Diego bar last Friday, one not really known for craft beer offerings. I did not taste any coconut, at all. Not sure how long it had been on tap, but the IPA came through loud and clear.

So, in summary, I had it on tap at Stone Liberty Station the day it was released, and definitely got coconut. I have had 3 bottles of it since then, and on each occasion noticed coconut. This last time on tap, nothing.

Had it on tap and I got the hint of coconut right away. probably will not get another though.....Didn't really feel like it belonged in the beer....

Good IPA..I expected a bit more though. Gotta be honest. Its just Alright.
    - I woulda just left the "coconut" off the label. Leaves u expecting more than it can deliver.
It is a really good IPA tho, as stated ^, but...

7.5/10. A friend of mine picked two of these pints up while we were relaxing down at Pawleys Island, SC at a Piggly Wiggly no less! They had Growlers as well. In fact, I got a growler of some River Dog IPA that was supposed to be $11.99 but the cashier had clearly either never rung up a Growler or was new so she rung it up as an empty Growler for $5. I almost went back late that day to see if she was still working haha but I digress. This beer was exceptional though, very smooth but I'd being lying if I told you it was very coconut-ty. It had a sweet kind of coconut aftertaste but not pronounced though that was fine with me because I'm not a huge coconut fan anyway.

I paid $11.99 for my bottle. Opened it tonight. At first taste, I thought, "Nice IPA, no coconut. For that reason, not successful." I'm not sure if it was due to the beer warming or something else, but about half way through the bottle, I got the coconut. Suddenly it was in the nose and the flavor. Not assertive, but certainly present. I was actually really pleased with it. The mild, earthy flavors of the coconut made for a really interesting and enjoyable experience.
