San Diego Beer Week kicks off tomorrow morning with Stone's annual Rare Beer Breakfast event. Has anyone seen a list of the beers that will be on tap?

If they took the "Rare" out of the title, this event would be much appear better. Instant disappointment right now.

Thanks for passing this along. I'm looking forward to the Struise St. Amatus, Almanac Heirloom Pumpkin, Avery Uncle Jacob's and the Mikkeller/Cigar City collaboration.

On Stone's site they state "dozens" of beers & on the SDBW site they state "over 60" - neither of which seem to be true at this point. Seems I recall last year Dr. Bill announced some last minute additions. Maybe someone can ping/tag him in here? Fingers are crossed the list grows a bit

This would be a great event at half that price. "Rare" Beer indeed...

I'd have gone if my friend had been able to. It may not be the rarest of beers, but there's a good number of delicious and expensive ones. And with 15 tasters and a buffet for 3 hours, the price seems fine to me.

It's more like Stone Some Pretty Darn Good Beers Breakfast. Rare is rare. I just don't want to get up that early for a lot of stuff I can buy from my A-list beer shops (albeit for hefty prices). And I am not expecting a Whale Breakfast either.

Yeah, the name's a bit misleading considering they're mostly beers you can find at a decent store (though not certainly not all at the same time). Still seems like a damn good event though.

Do people still get excited about Stone's overpriced and overcrowded craft beer events?

C'mon people, Stone caters to the casual craft beer drinkers. You should know that by now.

I think a lot of people remember when that really wasn't the case. 4 years ago their events were pretty damn awesome.

Amatus 12 is an awesome beer. Unless things have changed since I last checked it was only available through ordering from the brewery.

You're right, a few years ago a list like that might have been "unique/rare" but now private tasting events bring all those beers listed and more to the table. I've picked up Amatus 12 at good bottle shops.

    ^This.

And seasonal does not equal rare.
