I'm not denying that parabola isn't worth it but stone could probably charge more for their limited release beers than they do.

Stone IRS isn't really "limited", particularly when compared to a beer like Parabola. It's just a seasonal, but I tend to see it around for a long time after it's released.

picked up two bottles of this great tasting beer this morning in the hb area. going for 6.50-7 per bottle. had one last evening and it was very delicious, citrusy & bitter to the end. def a good priced brew from stone.

This is very true. In the abstract, they could require you to buy a $25 book for the opportunity to buy a $25 500ml bottle of beer.

Totally justified. The additional $0.41 in taxes they had to pay on that beer is breaking the bank.

I'm looking forward to this. I just wish I had the privilege of paying $50 for a pint of Stone's barrel-aged beer like the spoiled San Diegans do.

I bought a bottle at one of the best beer stores in San Francisco and of course the bag broke right as I walked in the door and the bottle broke. Decided to take the 15 minute drive back to buy another bottle. I was annoyed at the time, but now I realize it was totally worth it.

Had one with some folks last night - strong flavors, heavy malt and alcohol - but very quaffable. Watch out for that 10.8 abv.

Had some last night. Tastes like Ruination on Steroids. It's excellent, and a fair price to boot. Although like others have said, it's a pretty gnarly beer at 10%+.

Tried this on tap Wednesday night at Bru Grill in Lake Forest - amazingly awesome. Agree with above, Ruination on roids.

Is it just me or does anyone find it taste like a hopped up Double Bastard rather than a hopped up Ruination?

Tried it at Firestone Fest. It was late in the day, but still notably hoppy and balanced. Absolutely beautifully made.

I bought a case yesterday at Whole Foods for 20% off which came out to 5.59 a bomb, good deal in my opinion. Now for Fathers Day's Ruinating!!
