stone smoked porter preference

I haven't tried the chipotle pepper one, but I feel pretty confident that I won't prefer it to the vanilla bean one. The vanilla bean one is my favorite beer I've had from Stone.

 

I was really disappointed with the vanilla bean. I love vanilla porters of all sorts but for whatever reason I did not like the vanilla bean at all. The standard smoked porter and the chipotle are great. My favorite of the three being the standard smoked porter.

 

I went with other. I had the bourbon barrel aged one a few years ago and absolutely loved it.

 

the chipotle one is just too damned hot to enjoy imo. 5oz serving for a buck? okay as a novelty but i can't buy a bottle of it or a full pour. haven't had the vanilla bean but i imagine it's tooooooooo sweat.

the original, like coca-cola, is the best imo.

 

I'm going with the regular. I loved the aroma on the Vanilla Bean, but found it underwhelming on the palate.

 

Just the normal one.

 

Chipotle all the way! Vanilla . . . sounds like it goes well with COFFEE or ICE CREAM!

Original Recipe has everything that I came for, while somewhat surprisingly the others just don't.

The vanilla is fantastic, hands down the winner for me. I do enjoy the original, chipotle is just not for me, but the vanilla is really the only I will buy.

 

Loved the vanilla. Love the original too, and with a pb&j like the bottle suggests. A true delight. I'm not Inclined to try the chipotle

 

I enjoyed the heck out of the vanilla. Regular is good too, but as with most Stone beers around here, the price point means I rarely get it to drink at home.

 

Vanilla was the first one i had..and i havent enjoyed any of them more than that...chipotle is a close second.

 

Chipotle all day vs the others. I think it's just fantastic. I love Chile beers and it really hits the spot.

 

I found the vanilla too sweet and the chipotle to be too one note with the peppers. I'll take the regular if given the choice. It's a better deal too.

 

I absolutely love the original, which is why I assumed I'd like the vanilla. Bad assumption, I thought the vanilla was dreadful. I haven't had the chipotle, so no comment there.

 

Agree with the vanilla being dreadful. Of the three chipotle was surprisingly the best IMHO

 

It would be my dream come true if they used the same barrel/age time/peppers that they used for Crime or Punishment.
