I loved this beer (and the mustard) and so happy they brought it back for at least one release.

Curious on the price point on this one. It was part of the old $20 mix pack back when it was in regular production. Hopefully its priced about ruination 2.0 which was about 13.99 a 6 pack, anything above $15 and it'll probably only be a one and done 6pack for me.

This used to be one of my favorites from Stone. I'm glad they are bringing it back. How about that Smoked Porter, also?

This is what I've been hoping for as well, the vanilla smoked on is one I remember very well.

Any chance we can bring the smoked porter back for a quick second? Loved that brew.

Importers pay the same Federal excise tax as "large" domestic brewers do - $16 -18 a barrel. Which works out to be about a nickel a 12 oz. bottle. (There are no current tariffs on imported beer, either.)

I meant taxed in the colloquial sense of "over priced", in hindsight it was a terrible choice of words for this discussion

My apologies :grimacing: (my first thought upon reading it was, "WTF! Somebody hacked unlikelyspiderperson's account!"). I'm not familiar with that usage, but then I'll go to my grave thinking "OG" stands for Original Gravity and really don't get this whole "bois" thing, either.

I should have made the usage more clear by declaring schlenkerla "hella taxed":stuck_out_tongue:

REALLY hop we get some distribution here in Colorado Springs. If I want an imperial stout, there's wwwaaaayyyy too many of those around. But Black IPAs are like dodo birds around here. I don't drink a lot of Stone these days (occasionally some Enjoy by...) but I'll make a serious exception for SSR
    Cheers...

For So. Cal-ers in the room, Firestone currently has Wookie Jack cans at the propegator in Venice.

SSR has faded into my mythic past and blended with my general nostalgia for discovering the variety of beer on offer, Stone had a big part in that. But wookie jack (and the leaser Wookus) is the black IPA I remember most fondly.

Black IPA having a moment down in the Southlands at the moment I guess

Oh man I miss Wookie Jack! I haven't bought non-BA FW in a couple years but I'd be happy to buy some Wookie Jack.

This was a favorite of mine back in my intro to craft beer days circa 2014. Excited to see it return. Black IPA's were a favorite style of mine. Now if we can get Founders to bring back Dark Penance...

I'm in for a six pack, if it shows up. I'm a little worried with last year's Xocoveza still showing up on shelves here "fresh" from the distributor, that we won't see this here.

On a tangent, Founder's take note: Dark Penance in 2021... My personal, all time favorite of the style.

Nope saw it for 19.99 and at another store for 21.99. Never cared for black ipas and wasn't about to pay big bucks for one from a brewery who's having an identity crisis

I remember having the Wookus on tap at the Venice brewpub a few years ago when I was down there for a wedding. I quite liked it but the people I shared it with were confused. Black IPAs are definitely niche.
