I think more breweries should go with 12oz bottles. Especially for stronger beers. I walk into the bottleshop and 99% of the barleywines, imperial _____s, and other strong ales are in =<22oz format, and if I buy that, I can't/won't drink it alone. I'm going to have to share it with someone, which means its not an everyday drink, which means I buy less. I don't understand why the most common format for heavy ales is large bottles.

Good move by stone. I also see myself enjoying this beer more often, it's IMO top 3 for the BIPA/CDA style and being able to drink a bottle when I feel like it is awesome. I'm clearly not alone in feeling this way, seems like a good way to sell more beer and again, it surprises me that 12oz isn't more common.

Hm looks like I should probably go grab the first 12 oz bottles.

Because It wont be 10th anniversary after this year.

the fact that so many of stone's 1-offs are worth making year rounds or seasonals is sort of a blessing and a curse. their large capacity relative to other craft breweries teases us a bit, but even they can't turn every awesome 1-off into a giant yearly release and still make money.

I missed that one, but I wanna say 13th (Black IPA) was fantastic and turned me on to Black IPAs.

13th anniversary was the imperial red, 11th was the (first Stone) black IPA. Ah shit, who cares they're all rad.

I trust in stone and Lagunitas with hops. But I was thinking of 15th. Escondidian Black. I loved the hell out of that beer. Bought it on a whim with no prior info.

stone 15th was really something special. i think sublimely self-righteous is top tier, but if they never made it again and replaced it with the escondidian black, i wouldn't be upset.

Ditto that—that really was a special beer, it legitimately walked all the necessary lines of that style and walked the hell out of them. No idea how the pulled off all those different components without anything feeling like it was clashing with something else.

    But, y'know—yay for us!
