Price point will be a big deciding factor for me. I'm sure this will be great, but if I can get Boulevard Pop Up session IPA for $6.99-7.99/6pk and Founders All Day IPA for $18.99/15pk, it will be hard to buy this is if is priced at $8.99-$9.99/6pk like other Stone offerings.

Even if it tastes the same as all their other IPAs, it'll be nice if its a true session beer (around 4%) and priced accordingly, perhaps even better than All-Day.

hopefully this is a little bit hoppier than Great Divide's Lasso. Knowing Stone, I'm sure it will be. I'm curious to know what the hop bill is

Certainly geared towards countering All Day IPA...

I really wish breweries would give us 12pks for these session beers. Here's hoping FW comes through this summer.

Releasing 12 packs of a beer when no one's even tried it seems either ballsy or presumptuous. Give them some time to see if it sells well enough to warrant a 12 pack first.

Also: I find the mention of Boulevard 6-packs and Founders All Day IPA to be a little funny, since neither are available in Stone's home territory. I realize those are what you guys have to compare it to, but they're definitely not the beers Stone (or anyone in Stone's largest market) are going to be comparing this too.

I can't help but wonder how (if at all?) this might affect their production of Levitation? I've always found that to be fairly hoppy, and it doesn't get much more "session" than 4(ish)%. Curious how this will compare.

The combined size of Boulevard's and Founders' markets are much much larger than the state of California. Therefore, many more people will compare this to those beers than anything in CA.

You got a point there. OK, I guess I'll just bitch that Lagunitas isn't offering Daytime in 12pks yet. I mean, I gotta bitch about something, right? This is the internet, no?

I'm comparing it to those 2 beers, as those are the other session IPAs that will be competing against Stone's session IPA in my market (central Iowa). Not comparing the beers to what's available in Stone's "home territory." Simply stating that if priced like current Stone 6pk prices, I'll probably rarely buy this and will pick up Boulevard or Founder's instead.

I saw the Unita session IPA today. $11 in MA for a six pack of bottles. I am a fan of some of the lower alcohol content beers and if they are tasty I will spring for them. I can get a 12 pack of all day for $18ish. Looking forward to see what Easy Jack comes in at. We had daytime two summers ago, not last year, and I want to say it was $11ish for a 6 pack bottles.

If you've got Stone available for $8.99/6pk you shouldn't be complaining. Can't find for less than $10.99 in the Twin Cities.

I'll certainly try the Stone offering as I enjoy almost all of their hoppy beers. I recently had Lagunitas DayTime at a tasting and I must say I really like the "nose" of it. I pleaded with the Lagunitas rep that they consider canning this product. He said they were in fact considering it. I don't see myself taking session IPA bottles to the pool, beach.

It's weird that Stone beers seem to be $2-3 more up in the Twin Cities than a lot of places. Bombers of Enjoy By are like $9.99 there too, right? They are $6.99 here.

    Odd, considering:

Usually, yeah. Although I did spot an "Enjoy by 2/14/14" for $6 this weekend. I always grab Stone brews when I drive through Iowa as it always seems so "reasonably" priced!
