Looking to clone this one this weekend. When I enter the numbers per Stone's website, BrewCipher calculates IBU's in the mid 60's. I changed the hop addition from 90 minutes to 60 minutes, but still get 62 ibu. Doesn't this seem high for a BSDA/Belgian Porter? Am I misunderstanding the instructions?
Its a little high, but Stone always likes to push the bitter envelope. Its not out of reason though. It sucks that the recipe doesn't provide a desired IBU. I've never tried this beer so I can't comment on the bitterness. I'd say roll with it.
I never had this beer either, so can't be certain. The sweetness from the 10% crystal should help balance the bitterness.
