I only have one bottle of Epic in the cellar. It's an 09'. All this vertical talk has convinced me to pop it tonight. Any feedback on what to expect?

I only have 11 and 12. Not sure if I am going to try and trade to get others or just drink these two. Decisions, decisions.

Store by me is doing a 4-12 tasting for 20$ and sales of bottle 4-12 too. But to be able to buy 4-6, you have to buy 7-12.

I think 09 was the best... my tasting notes include "hot cocoa"... very chocolatey.

12 is amazing though. Gingerbread bomb. Stayed to get the glass. I didn't have it tonight, but 11.11.11 remains a red herring in the series for me.

Got 2 bottles of 12 at Central Market and I'm closing the book on this amazing series.

7, I thought had faded quite a bit.

I found several bottles of 09 not long ago, bought them all. I love it, and have had a few since to keep enjoying. I do feel 10 is really fading fast though, so as soon as 12 shows up here in GA I'm doing 09-12.

About to bust open one of my 040404 bottles. . . . I "only" have the 04 and 07-11, and "only" 2 bottles of the 04, 07, 10 & 11. Planning on doing 5 or more bottles with friends in a couple weeks. Cheers all!

Nah, it was tonight at 7pm. I got there early so I could have a few of the vintage ones then get the new one on draught with the glass. They filled up an incredible amount from 6:55pm till 7:00pm getting ready (~50). Not sure how many they have left.

    I had a 777 in 2010 and i thought it was amazing.
interesting to hear about the 02 and the 03 I've heard nothing but bad things from the few i know of who have had them in the last few years
A place in Brooklyn had the whole thing and did their tasting last week for whaetver reason (i think it was private) and some guys told me they spit out the 02..including the bartender/beer guy there

Here's the glass in question... not sure which bars are handing them out...

Except it says "Stone Vertical Epic 12.12.12 The Final Chapter" in the back.

Reminds me of the vintage Goose Island glasses (it's probably the same one). Gonna get some serious use in the future.

09' is very nice. No oxidation at all. Tons of chocolate malt with a hint of vanilla. Solid! [IMG]

I have 09-10-11-12, 3 bottles of each. Planning to open one set with local friends in January with a nice roaring fire on my deck. Not sure about the other two. The only one that I didn't love initially was 10-10-10, so I'm curious to see how it aged. I guess I'm the rare lover of 11-11-11, I consumed a good amount of that!

Bought the '11 as a noob who didn't know what a vertical tasting was. It was alright. Brought home the '12 and when I got home I got invited out to have the '12 at a new craft bar so I stashed mine in the fridge. The whole time I drank it I kept thinking the beer reminded me of some other beer and I couldn't put my finger on it and then it hit me: Lost Abbey 10 Commandments. I'm probably wrong but those two beers seem to be similar in their uniqueness if that makes any sense.
