Noticed a few of these sitting on the shelf of the local shop yesterday. They appear to be pretty old (dust)
I imagine they should have aged well but at room temp . . .
My question is do I buy or pass ?

No need to judge by dust. They are 16 months old.

    12/12/2012. Jeez.

It has still been getting decent reviews in the last few months. Belgian strong dark should be fine.

I loved this beer the first time I tried it which was about 6 months after it first came out. I was one of the few who seemed to like it if I remember right. I would love to see how it ages. I will admit I had the chance to buy it but something was more urgent and I never found out. If you do get it please let me know how it drank.

My buddy has been buying up bottles of it that he finds. He still raves about them.

My least favorite of the Vertical Epics I've had FWIW.

The store were I work still have bottles of 7/7/7, 10/10/10, 11/11/11 and 12/12/12 and nobody has complained about them yet...but granted they are not selling that fast.

Buy one. Check it out. Worst that could happen? Drain pour. Best? Glorious. Reward outweighs risk in this case, IMHO.

I have 9, 10, 11, and 12 chilling in my fridge. I keep on contemplating either attempting to complete the set, or just drink those four now.

Drink them now. I have an 08,09,10 and 11 in my cellar. I guess I should ice them up and have a few people over and drink them.

I had one last year and one again a few weeks ago. Comepletely different beer (from what I remember) with some age on it. I still have another bottle that I am looking forward to drinking..whenever that may be. Thought about buying a few more bottles at one of the store I frequent that still has a few

I had mine in December (2013). Was still good IMO. May be worth saving for this December though...holiday spices were still a prevalent flavor.

Tell him to go to B&C in Smithfield. At least 3 or 4 on the shelf.

12/12/12 was a clove bomb fresh. I'm assuming it's settled a bit by now and easier to stomach. The 09 is still doing well but 10 and 11 have completely fallen apart IMO.

I bought a 12.12.12 a few weeks ago. Was at a new liquor store in town, my guess is the distributor had it sitting around in the warehouse somewhere. Haven't cracked it yet though...

Hell, my local shop still has some 11/11/11 and maybe even some 10/10/10 sitting around.

Speaking of, if anyone's looking to complete a vertical or try them, let me know

I have '06-'12 in the cellar and was looking to trade them as well. The duplicates I've had recently of '10, '11, and '12 were doing just fine.
