I was recently gifted the entire series and was curious if anyone has drank any of these in recent years and how they held up?

Can you tell us a bit more about this? I really know nothing about them.

The whole series, wow! I thought the 02.02.02 was extremely limited production compared to the rest of the series. I had 04.04.04 in the old days along with a few other vintages but nothing recently. Maybe somebody in California has had them.

Yeah 02-02-02 is very rare....I suppose I could try and trade that one...

Starting in 2002 (I think) stone released a beer every year on the number day. 02/02/02, 03/03/03, etc... all the way up to 12/12/12.

If i remember correctly the gimmick was the you were supposed to drink them all as a vertical at the end of 2012.

I didn't have them back in the day, but I got 666 and 777 and drank them recently. They were odd and clearly past their prime, but a fun little part of beer history. I think the thin execution of these which was popular at the time lead to them not aging particularly well

12.12.12 - Pulled my final bottle from the cellar and shared with my neighbor as we watched the VT/LSU Womens final four basketball game. Spice is still present, malty with dark fruit all balanced by a noticeable but easy drinking ABV. OK carbonation. That said, my palate believes this beer has passed its peak and is on its way down. Time to drink this beer.

Still have ‘02, ‘03, ‘04 and ‘05. Not sure what to do with them, I was supposed to drink them 11 years ago![IMG]

I’m in the same boat, I have a bunch of the Vertical Epics, probably 5 of the first 2 years. I should have drank them years ago, but that ship has sailed. Would Stone want to trade for some other beers? I’ve kept them about 40 degrees all of these years, so they are probably in decent shape.

They might! I remember years ago Greg said even he didn’t have a bottle of ‘02.

there was a time that the 02 would have netted a huge trade. Was a "white whale" beer in the 2000s.

I honestly think you drink em with some others and of course share your thoughts back with us here!

I just want to see the vertical share and hear people's thoughts. Have you decided what you'll do with them?

A couple of these (at least a couple) were rebrewed as well, including the 02. and packaged in a very similar bottle. If trading etc., make sure you figure out if youve got b1s or b2s.
