I just called my local craft shop, and they suggested I ask this here-

A friend of mine just moved from Portland and gifted me his cellar, which I am trying to go through (eight or so moving boxes of limited release stuff, most of which is 6+ years old). The first thing that popped out is several bottles of Vertical Epic 03 as well as multiples of 06 and 07... I dunno how consistently it was stored; I'm guessing I have to drink it fairly expeditiously (I tried an 07 last PM and it seemed fine to me, FWIW).

Any old pros here have some advice on what to do with this stuff?? Seems a waste to just drink it to drink it...

Think I'll do that... I hope that (a) some of it is worth hosting, and (b) it's decent. Thanks.

Why on earth would it be a waste to just drink the beer? Your friend gifted it to you, so by all means share but you should definitely drink them. If this was some veiled attempt to gauge what you could trade them for, you ain't getting any help/advice from me, but assuming you're sincere the only answer is yes! Drink them!

Drink, drink, drink, drink. Why is beer made?

I have no problem drinking them; but if there is a better use than drinking them one after the other then I'm all for it (and 12 bottles of the same stuff is overkill)(I like the bottle share idea). Didn't even know until I started combing the boards that trading was a thing; that end of it doesn't interest me. I'd just hate to find out that I drank something that someone had been waiting to try. THAT'D be a waste...
