I have both and drank last week. They really have kept most of cinnamon and nutmeg. Even without, I think they are a great base

    Welp. Another post....

Finishing off my last case before the weather gets too hot and my garage (my beer cellar) ages things too quickly.

Just cracked a 10/09/16 to zero fizz sound... Almost completely flat.

I'm having the worst luck here with a smaller percentage of Xocoveza bottles.

Defintiely seeing some dried beer residue on the edge of the top of the bottle.

I guess Im the big winner.

I've caught every bottling flaw out of this beer. I guess you get that when you buy 5+ cases.

The flat one, still tastes fine if you can get past the 100% flat nature of it

Any chance of any Xocoveza still being on the shelves anywhere? We have Stone distribution now, but didn't when Xocoveza shipped last fall. Thinking I could check two adjoining states - Iowa and Nebraska - if there is any chance it's still around. Or does it go fast?

It typcially goes fast but this year I think they increased their production so there was more out there to be had. I got a 6 pack when they first came out, and was lucky to stumble on another 6 a couple weeks ago. Will be tough but I wouldn't say it's out of the question. A hoarding store clerk might have some in the back room if not on the shelf. Never know until you ask.

I was at Total Wine today and saw this beer. They had it in two brandings. One bottle was branded from Stone, and the other bottle was branded from Insurgente. Is there a difference between the two bottles are far as the beer inside? I know this was a collaboration between the two breweries, but I'm wondering if the difference is literally just the branding on the bottle. Anyone on here know?

I didn't drink them side by side, but I didn't detect any noticeable difference.

I really enjoyed these fresh but noticed the aged ones I saved mellowed some and took on a new profile, smoother, etc.

They're two different beers from two different breweries. Obviously they will be very similar since we developed the recipe together, but each brewery has it's own subtle differences and unique twists. Cheers!

Wow, didn't expect to get a response from an actual Stone rep for this question. That's awesome! Thanks David. Now I wanna pick up a bottle of the Insurgente version as well.

The Insurgente version is awesome! Definitely worth grabbing a case or three.

Been drinking them steadily all year, including last night and probably another later tonight. No issues here. I have one 2015 left I'll open in the next month or so.

So, are the 16oz cans a lock in the USA or do we have to boycott Stone to get what we want?

Found a leftover sixer of this a few weeks ago. I didn't notice much, if any difference from a few months worth of aging. Though, I will keep one around to compare it with this next year's release. A personal thing, but it feels weird to be drinking this beer in spring when the weather's warm out. I just can't be in the mood for a holiday beer when its not the holidays.

Are they supposed to can xocoveza? That would be great.

Only in Germany currently. They clearly "have the technology."

Sweet! It's a great beer, I would love cans. I wonder why we didn't see them in the states.

I just experienced same thing. Luckily I was next to my sink. I never am when I crack my beers open. WHEW! What a mess that would have been.

It's just so random.. Thanks @Donaldearl for showing that I'm not totally crazy.

Two days ago, I went to crack open a november '16 dated Xocoveza, and GUSHER... Yet since my latest post here before today, I experienced nothing. All dates drank (10/11/12). I just dont get it anymore.

    Expect the worst anymore.

Between my zero fizz post about 2 weeks back, I have probably randomly gone through another 3-4 singles. Yet 5/23 was another ugly day. I had a 22 oz. cup ready and it still overflowed about 2-4 pure oz. of beer. That tells me that it was super carbonated and just waiting to pop. Be careful.

I've had gushers with Weihenstephaner Hefe in the past upon opening, and this is acting in the same manner.

It makes me really surprised when beers beyond 6 months arent always foaming up and going all over. Yet we see 5-7 year vintages constantly and they are fine. Something isnt quite right. Luckily not many age Xocoveza. New release in less than half a year !
