Yeah, but are they only adding Lactose? because this is just a type of sugar.

It's a sugar that comes from cows. I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to clarify.

Well i'm just thinking in terms of someone, lets say is vegan, and won't consume an animal product. Yes the sugar is formed in the animal, but it is on the sugar that is being added.

I'm not trying to clarify anything, just trying to understand it more. Considering lactose is just two monosaccharide sugars put together.

Ah, I see. I think for most vegans, the fact of lactose as merely two monosaccharide sugars does not delink lactose from its production, which requires the raising of animals for food. The process of animal agriculture and its environmental/welfare effects is usually the focus of critique, not the abstracted elements of its outcome.

I still have a few bottles from last year. I might have to do a vertical tasting.

Any stores putting limits on this? Or are they allowing you to purchase full six packs?

Don't know yet, but I imagine this first roll out is more limited and shops will be selling them as singles, but as the months go on it'll start to flood the market, just like Mocha IPA, Pataskala, etc.

So do I. I probably will too. Have to imagine last year's will still be okay but it will be better fresh. That's how Founders Breakfast Stout was when I did a one year vertical on that.

Not a fan of all the "vertical" and "aging" comments in here, this one is for NOW even more so than Enjoy By. I thought it was significantly less amazing even 6 months after bottling. One of the best new beers of the last 3 years though for sure.

I'll be buying 2cs this year, might last me til New Years. Later

I'm in SD, so probably not exemplative of the rest of the world, but it seems that quite a few places here have stacks of it, and I probably could have gotten more than just this.

While I agree it does seem less good now than I remember it being fresh last year. I still love the ones I've been drinking periodically. So at least, unlike an IPA, it doesn't get drastically less enjoyable after up to a year. It will be interesting to see how much of a difference there is between a new one and a 2015. I'll be trying it out this weekend.

Interestingly, I got a crowler of xocoveza from the brewery about a month ago. I have no idea if it was a freshly brewed batch or if they just have a supply from last year. I didn't like it nearly as much as my 2015 bottles. Could have been any one of a number of factors, but I'm hoping they didn't change something for the worse...

After the incredible response we received last year, we definitely increased production quite a bit this time around. The beer just started shipping nationally a few days ago, but we have a beer tracker here that should help everyone track it down. Cheers!

Excellent. I purchased a couple of 6ers online last night. I'm paying as much in freight as I am for the beer.

And it's worth every penny. Truly a world-class beer, IMHO.

Glad I cracked a couple fresh. Tastes fantastic right now. Doubt mine makes it to any holiday, unless I run into more.

Picked up a 6er today and am very excited. I did a side-by-side comparison with Abraxas last year and liked Xocoveza better. Won't be shelling out the big bucks for Abraxas as long as this is available.

Was able to score a 6 pack last year, held onto one bottle in the cellar, cracked about 8 months after release, totally muted, will not be holding any back this year.
