    Hello everyone,

with the most recent release of xocoveza upon us, I'm wondering what you all think would be the best way to store this beer? I personally bought a large amount just because I'm such a huge fan, but I'm struggling to decide if I should cellar the surplus, or keep it in the fridge to try and preserve most of the flavors I love in this beer. Any input is appreciated!

Being a milk stout- (chocolaty, winter-spiced mocha stout) . It's is best Fresh.! It's fine to store in your frig. , or a very cool dark place will do ! Nice beer I'm going to keep an eye out for this soon. I would not cellar this to long ! Enjoy W/ Friends. !

    Cheers....

I recently cracked my last bottle of last years batch on Halloween. Still tasted great, good carbonation, the coffee had fallen off, but the pepper was working with the spices wonderfully to create that subtle heat in the aftertaste. I already put a 6er in the cellar for when the hankering hits me throughout the next year.

Thanks for the replies. Riot, the one you saved from last year was cellared or kept in the fridge? I'm still on the fence. Not really looking to age this as I love the flavor, more looking to preserve the current flavors as long as possible which is why I'm leaning towards fridge. I know usually hoppy beers are kept in the fridge to preserve hop flavors so I'm hoping this would apply to the flavors in this beer as well (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc)

Definitely fridge, if you have room. Should keep nicely for a month or two. That said, it's also a good candidate for cellaring, but as mentioned earlier, the coffee will most likely fade. You said you have a large amount, so do some experimenting! Throw some in the cellar, throw some in the fridge, throw some down your throat!

This beer cellars very well. I still have a few bottles from last year and they are great. You cannot go wrong with this beer. With a year on it it was a chocolate bomb. Tasted better to me than fresh. I liked it so much I traded for more

I've been cellaring several of the original bombers in a wine fridge at about 50 degrees, cracked one at a year and it tasted as great as it does fresh, a little smoother actually. The coffee maybe faded a tiny bit, but still very present.

I kept one in a room temperature cellar and drank it recently from last years release; it tasted like spicy dirt. I haven't had it fresh though, so it may taste the same. :stuck_out_tongue:
