Just swung into Stoneface Brewing in Newington NH for my first tastes of their beers and I was completely blown away. The pale ale is solid, juicy and hop forward, and the new batch of the IPA (Citra, Amarillo, Centennial, and Warrior) is up there with some of the best VT IPA's I've tried. After the loss of Blue Lobster it's nice to have another local seacoast brewer with fresh hopped beers. Definitely worth a visit!

We're they open tonight? I heard they kicked the IPA last weekend and they didn't post anything on their FB page today.

They're working on the hours but for now they're open F 5-7 and Sat 12-4.

Hoping to stop in tomorrow - anyone know if they only fill their own glassware?

I stopped by this afternoon. The place was packed and looked great. I had the pale ale around on tap previously but hadn't tried the IPA. It's really fantastic. I picked up a growler and know it's going to be refilled on a regular basis. The guys running it were very nice and seemed excited about the possibilities of working with other local craft breweries. Really excited to watch these guys grow and keep trying their beers.

Do they allow other company's growlers to be filled?

    See above, glassware = growlers.

Went today, the guys are super friendly and the beer they make is pretty darn good.

Stopped by today and thought the staff were great. Pale ale is solid but the new batch of IPA is outstanding. Have to agree with Davl22: this little IPA wants to hang with the big boys up in VT and is making a pretty good case. Hope the brewers keep the current recipe because it's delicious.

P.S., the location of this brewery is highly convenient if you're heading up Route 16 for skiing, mountain biking, or visiting your mistress. Right off the highway before the Gen. Sullivan bridge.

Glad to hear this is open. I'll have to stop in when I'm home for Easter. Let's just hope it doesn't turn into a 7th Settlement deal where they never have any of their own beer available.

Very excited to check this place out. My dad's gone the past two Fridays and gotten growlers of IPA and the pale ale. Good reports!

Went here last night and had a great time. They have a very good Pale Ale and an excellent IPA in my opinion. The two guys working were very friendly and giving free tastings, as much as we wanted. It's a small spot but pretty convenient to get too. They will also sell kegs in the future but just asked for a heads up to make sure they can set aside the stock. That'll be awesome in the summer on the way up to Maine. They also have pretty sweet glassware for sale. All in all, definitely coming back!

Stoneface will have their India Red Rye (Portsmouth Brewery Collaboration) for growler fills this weekend.

I need to get over there and check it out. Portsmouth put the collaboration on tap during Portsmouth Beer Week in late February. They were calling it Red Rye IPA.

Got to try the Pale Ale and the IPA and both were fantastic. Wish I didn't work weekends or I'd be there all the time.

I'm excited to get up to try Stoneface, I'm just perpetually disappointed in the inability to fill other brewery's glassware. I know (or at least I think) it's not the brewery's fault, but it does dissuade me from going to get beer when I know that I'll have to pay for a new growler or two.

I'm not the only one with a cellar full of glassware that I'll rarely use.

That being said, I do look forward to trying Stoneface. Nice to have new breweries.

Stoneface is the real deal. Great beer and great people. They really go out of their way for their customers too.

As for the growler deal, I know most of the places like to say it's a NH law, but I can't see how when Blue Lobster was able to fill my growlers and "relabel" (with an easy to remove plastic type sleeve) the ones I brought them...
