Stoneface Brewing IPA

Was in Saturday and they were out of the Pale, only had the IPA and Berliner on tap. Check their FB page either Friday or Saturday. They usually post updates.

 

Yeah it's solid for sure. Didn't mean to sound like I was being critical. I've enjoyed every trip I've made to Stoneface and I look forward to new releases. Just saying, for my tastes, I could use somw more tart. I like how they went 4.5% instead of 3.0% though. Well worth the trip

 

No no, didn't think you were being critical. I've just heard a few people say the same thing, and at first I agreed, but after going through a growler on Sunday I appreciated the mild tartness. Originally, I think it was suppose to be fruited with raspberries. Hopefully he tries that out in a future batch.

 

I tried to do some searching but it doesn't look they list their accounts. Does anyone know if the IPA is on tap anywhere around Hampton Beach?

 

Anyone know if they are keeping their usual hours for 4th of July weekend?

 

Went today for the first time and was blown away. Awesome beers and great people. Can't wait until they start bottling! And get size large hats...

Looking forward to trying this. But as I read the thread it occurred to me that New England (much smaller than CA, even as a region) now produces the following: Heady Topper (plus sometimes Focal Banger), Double Sunshine (plus Sip'O Sunshine and Chinooker'd), Ghandi-Bot, Fuzzy Baby Ducks, Trillium Congress Street, Tree House Julius, Wormtown Be Hoppy and now Stoneface IPA. That is an embarrassment of riches. It doesn't count darned good beers like Limbo.

Does the west coast really own the IPA landscape?

 

Def an embarrassment of riches, but you omitted anything hoppy from Hill Farmstead. This is a really solid IPA, but nothing bragworthy in the East Coast v. West Coast debate, and does not stand up to any HF beers IMO.

 

True, as I've not had it. I also omitted Lunch and Dinner (and just scored two bottles of Lunch today). But it just makes the point more convincingly.

 

I've tried a few hoppy hf beers on tap and I wasn't overly impressed. They are waaaay overhyped in my opinion, one of the most overhyped. Good but not the holy grail by any stretch of the imagination.
