Flying into BWI tomorrow afternoon then renting a car to head to Easton. Any good beer-centric bars/restaurants along the way? I came across Lures along Generals Hwy..looks like a solid spot. Any another recommendations that won't take us too far out of the way?

Looks like you might be heading to Easton, MD...not Easton, PA. Is that correct? The previous comment was assuming you were heading into PA. I just wanted to clarify that before you get any more comments.

    Very cool website. Thanks!

You would think that BA would have something similar (not just on the mobile app) because of lot of us do just this; sit at our desk and plan out trips.

That's correct - Easton MD. Sorry for the confusion. Neat website, thanks!

Although not between BWI and Easton, if you are in Easton for a bit and willing to drive, both Evolution in Salisbury and Burley Oak in Berlin are worth a trip. Both an hour give or take from Easton.

That's what I get for assuming. Sorry.

Appreciate the recommendations but unfortunately I will be confined the Easton/St. Michaels area after the drive from BWI. Most likely will swing by Eastern Shore Brewing at some point.

No problem! Will definitely use that website for future trips.

Lures is great and all beer (including sampler paddles) is half price during happy hour (4-7pm). Check the tap list online to see if what they have currently makes it a worthwhile stop for you.

Since you're coming from BWI, I assume Baltimore proper is too far out of your way. However, Heavy Seas is not in the city so maybe you could make that a stop? If you're stopping at Lures, Google Maps says adding in Heavy Seas (the brewery/tasting room in Halethorpe, not the "alehouse" in Baltimore) only adds 8 miles to the trip.

Eastern Shore is nothing special. If you do stop there, hopefully you'll enjoy what you drink...but don't be surprised if you are disappointed. Unfortunately if you're confined to the Easton area that's your only option for local breweries.

Yes, RAR is a good option if you can make it there and they're definitely a step up from Eastern Shore Brewing.

RAR is on tap at a few Easton locations, so you can get fresh Nanticoke Nectar without having to drive to Cambridge.

Town and Country Liquors - which you will pass on your way to St. Mikes - is my go-to shop in town. They don't have a huge selection, but there is lots of quality. There isn't another bottle shop in Easton worth stopping at.

Unless you really want to check it out, Eastern Shore Brewing isn't worth going out of your way to try.

BM me with any other questions about Easton. Enjoy your trip!

I will 2nd what Lucular said about Lures, definitely worth the stop, especially for the paddles. You can also check out the tap list online at Frisco's in Crofton which would only be 5 minutes out of your way off of RT 97.

Basically all of this above is what I would say. Cambridge is like 15 mins out of your way (I think) but well worth it.

There's a good place a few blocks from RAR in Cambridge — The High Spot — eclectic tap list, no whales, but great food and good beers.

I haven't been to Frisco's yet even though they're less than 10 minutes from where I live. Are they worthwhile? The fact that they don't do sampler paddles and also don't show their prices has made me stay away so far. Plus I've heard that business has been slow, which doesn't make me feel good about the rotation of their 100 tap lines...

I've been checking their tap list to see if they get something really special and so far they haven't. I'd go there if they put, I don't know, KBS on tap (not happening, I know, but just for example).

Not quite beer, but in Easton is Rise Up Coffee, which provides the coffee for Evolution's Rise Up Stout. Might be worth hitting, especially if you can find the stout.

I was in Easton a few times this summer and never saw Rise Up anywhere. And then I went to Dewey for a weekend and snagged a couple bottles. Definitely a good beer.

To the OP— If you like DIPA's, make sure to try Evolution Lot 6. One of my top DIPAs this summer (and I have tried A LOT). You should be able to get bottles pretty easily.

Must stop at Max's Taphouse in Fells Point. It's on the east side of Baltimore City. There is a cool little outdoor spot in St. Michaels called Foxy's. It sits right on the water. They usually have Cambridge and Eastern Shore beer on tap. Plus usually some really good taps.
