Hello BA, I'm on leave until the 18th and staying with my family, who live in Salinas. I was wondering if there are any BAs out there who are familiar with this area who could point me in the direction of some good stores to buy bottles. I've been to a few supermarkets and a liquor store and they all had solid selections, but was wondering if any shops around here may have something a bit more special.
You are not really going to find anything special around here... Whole Foods in Monterey, Bottles-n-Bins in Monterey, Post No Bills in Sand City, Bevmo in Salinas. If you don't mind driving to Santa Cruz, the Whole Foods on Soquel...
Bottles 'N Bins has a pretty good selection. I've seen some good Bruery stuff there like Tart of Darkness.
I went to Post No Bills a couple weeks ago, the big fat dude that pours there sucks ass, but the hispanic guy who took over for him was tight. the bottle selection was so-so.
