A couple of years ago I spotted an unopened case of Black OPS on the floor of a store. I opened it and took a single bottle. It wasn't in the system, so the cashier offered to sell it to me for the price of Local 1 or some ridiculously low price. I declined and paid full price the next day and they've taken care of me ever since.

Almost happened a few times. hate to say it, but I always correct them. I'd feel bad if a shop owner lost money on one of my transactions.

When the Port/De Proof collab first came out I bought one at a small store by my house. It rang up for $8.99. I went back later that night with my buddy and we bought 2 cases. On our second trip in the guy told us that "Christmas came early for us". We played dumb and asked why? "Someone put it in the system as 6 bottle case instead of a 12. We then turned around and left. In my defense, the guys a real dick and over charges for everything. $15.99 for storm king 6pk. Fuck that.

Flying Dog Raging Bitch 4 packs were $15.99 at a store near me, which allows you to buy singles, and the single price for Raging Bitch was $2.99, so I bought 4 singles instead...victory

Some places in North Jersey mis-priced FW Double DBA. I got three of for either $6.99 or $7.99 each, I can't remember. Should have bought more when I had the chance!

I rarely run into stuff like this, but when I do I point it out and it is usually corrected.

I once wandered into my hometowns bottle shop and over to the Belgian section. I was there for a Rodenbach Vintage 2007 I'd seen a month prior, but when I looked down at my feet was a full case of Cantillon Kriek with the top cut off. I was elated, as my last and only other encounter with any Cantillon found me relinquishing a purchase of a Fou'Foune to someone else. I snagged four bottles, wanting to leave the wealth for others, but my dad grabbed 2 more. I stuffed my four in a Burton Baton 4-pack holder, snagged that Rodenbach, and headed to the counter. The girl behind the counter rang the Rodenbach up for the Grand Cru price and neglected to remove the Cantillon bottles from the 4-pack holder.
I paid $15 for four bottles of Cantillon.

Got a 6 pack of Guinness foreign export for $8.99. I see it everywhere in my area for $11-13 A four pack. Not huge a steal as some of the other posts but it was a error by the store none the less.

Some beer store in Brooklyn had all of their De Dolle 12 ounce bottles priced at $7.99 with the same generic 'Arabier' bar code strip. Including the Oerbier Reservas....

Also, back in '05, at a local crappy mostly macro & soda store near me, I discovered cases of '92 Liefmans Godenbands & Frambozens and '91 Krieks (375ml). They were going for $5.50 a poke but the guy gave me a buck off per bottle 'cause I took soooooooo much of it off his hands...

Where I come from when you use a 4/6 pack holder to essentially make a mix four/six you tell the cashier that, in my book you stole those loons bro.

Store near me sells ruination for 6.99 a 4 pack. Thought it was a mistake but every time I go back it is the same. They even changed the single bottle prices of it now from like 3.50ish to 1.99. Love that deal.

How? I would have never thought to tell them before hand either. Furthermore, since I purposefully never pay attention to what my final total was, (How much was this beer honey? Uh....I dont know I didnt look.) I probably would not have noticed. Isn't it up to the store to a certain extent to train their employees/monitor their POS system?

I once got a bunch of brewery logo coasters...get this...for free! They were supposed to charge, which I pointed out with a questioning yet thankful look on my face, and the cashier still just put them in my bag!

Case of Nugget Nectar for around $25.
Case of FW Abacus 2011 for around $75.

Those were my two scores. I'm sure there have been single bottle mix ups before too, I just can't remember.

This can happen often. It really depends on who is doing the entering of items coming into the store and then pricing them. I can tell you first hand that when the person doing that is an admin person only with little beverage skills anything can happen. Recently there was a mistake pricing Sixpoint Resin. Normally our inventory shows what we have in cases:bottles So with Resin, it was 4:1 Following the pricing program, that meant there 1 only one can of Resin (which should have been 1 4pk remaining).. Therefore, the 4-Pk of Resin was tag and price for only 1 can.

Yeah, it doesn't surprise me that some people would do this (or at least let it happen, I don't think he took those up there trying to fool the cashier on purpose), but it does boggle my mind that some people apparently don't see how this is completely wrong given he saw it happen and didn't say anything.

He took a four pack holder for DFH Burton Baton, shoved in four loons, and passed it to her saying nothing and she rang it up just like she normally would a four pack....you can not pay attention to the total all you want, but if you don't tell her those aren't Burton Batons in the holder when you see her just scan the barcode on bottom then I'm sorry you're a thief in my book.

A few months back the Target down the street (and others in the area, I've heard) had 22 oz GI Sofie, Juliet, and Pere Jacques for $2.49. A few weeks later they were back up to $7.99
