Curious what other BA's use to store their "nice" glassware. I'm getting ready to move to a new place and I have alot of nice pieces that I use regularly, but I dont want to store them in the cabinets with the boring pint glasses. Looking to find something that looks nice and can be used to proudly display them. Soo.. what do you guys use?
I have a little "floating" shelf over our kitchen sink that holds a couple of special Boulevard goblet style glasses and a couple of Hefeweizen glasses. Mostly because they are too tall to fit into my cabinets, but it also looks nice.
Working on my man cave bar and my plan is to build a shelf on the wall behind the bar to display nicer glasses.
If you live near an IKEA, I stand by these because they have a ton of head room, 360 degree view, CHEAP as hell, has a hole in the top for lighting to make your glasses really pop, and keeps dust off any that aren't used regularly. The wood comes in an espresso colored finish as well. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10011055/
Thanks. I'm really liking this. I have about 50+ glasses, so it would be nice to organize them by the shelves but not have them out exposed to dust like on a shelf on a wall.
I have a printed shaker glass collection - about 30 right now. They're displayed on top of a cabinet and to keep the dust out, I've stretched plastic wrap over the top and cut about 1/4" from the rim with a kitchen knife - llike you would do to play a practical joke on someone giving them a glass that the liquid ran off of when they poured. This way I can look at them daily and don't have to buy another piece of furniture.
