I ordered a mini mash ingredient kit, just received it in the mail. I probably will not get around to brewing it for 4-5 days though. Any special instructions for storing the ingredients until brew day. Yeast obviously goes in the fridge, i usually put hops in the fridge also. Any specific temperature best for keeping my LME or my grains. If I wanted to hang onto this stuff to brew in 2 months, could it get stale or anything?
Just letting the LME and grains sit at room temperature for 4-5 days is just fine. If you were looking to store for a period of a few months I would suggest you store the LME in the refrigerator. Make sure the grains stay dry and cool (like basement cool). Cheers!
Agree with previous posts, but a bigger factor might be how well (and for how long) the ingredients were stored at your retailer.
I ordered from Austin Homebrew so I've got to think they aren't sitting on their ingredients for too terribly long
