Stoudt's Barrel Aged Old Abominable

This beer hasn't been made for years. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it was brewery only, cost unsure and last released around 2007? Perhaps a bit later, 2009? Not sure but somewhere around there.

 

2 years ago i was told by the brewer the ownership had issues with the cost of barrels and he didn't have a clue as to when or if it would be brewed again. Stoudt's doesn't only rely on their brewery for income due to several other streams of revenue from the restaurant and antique mall etc. therefore they seem to be content playing it safe and not getting involved in keeping up with barrel aged releases etc. I wish they did considering i'm only about 2 miles from their brewery!

 

They are definitely into food. I see shops in my area selling their bread and featuring sandwiches with their bread. I've heard nothing but good things about the BA Fat Dog and wish I could fine one to try.

 

I have a bottle of BA Old Ab. which someone picked up for me from their brewery -
I labeled it as February 2009 but I'm not absolute certain I received it at this time (may have been earlier)

 

Not sure if its an old batch or what, but some bottles hit the Nashville market around December 2011. Last month some were still sitting on shelves at $23-24 a bottle...

A lot of people seem to get these two mixed up.

 

Yeah no way it was BA Old Abominable that hit the Nashville market, I'm pretty sure it was brewery only and hasn't come out in years anyway.

 

Ahh, I just remember seeing the yeti carrying a barrel and thought that meant BA... I'm not a huge BW fan so I never looked close enough. My bad... Dang, I've given misinformation a couple times here lately, I need to pull my head outta my ass
