Cool! Who was that? It would be fun to go do something like that. I backed these guys on kickstarter, so I'm excited to see them get started.

His BA name is DSAL89. He is a really cool dude. I traded with him a few times and talk to him on another forum(not beer related) for awhile. I think he kickstarter them too but not sure. He said he was gonna go help bottle today at Spite but not 100% sure if he did cause he was a littlel sick this morning.

Ok I'm a bit behind on this one, I left on vacation right after signing up for this BIF thinking with the mid-march timeline I wasn't in any rush. Low and behold I come home from work today after just getting back in town and find a box sitting on my porch!

Lots of NE Goodies, most of which are completely new to me (best part of BIFs!)
Foolproof Robust Porter (New to me!)
Founders Imp. Stout (Awesome beer, one of the best)
    Founders Breakfast Stout (See above)
Ipswich Oatmeal Stout (New to me!)
GI Bourbon County Brand Stout (A classic!)
    Mayflower Porter (New to me!)
Maine Mean Old Tom (mmmm vanilla)
Smuttynose Zinneke (New to me, mmmmm bourbon)
    Berkshire RIS (New to me!)
    Portsmouth Oatmeal (New to me!)
    Alesmith Speedway (Want!)

Thanks BBPro47 this was a great surprise. Can't wait to look into these more tomorrow, and drink them down soon!

Guess I need to start putting together my box and get in the hints game. Cheers!

Our store just got a keg of Suge Knight, but sadly we are saving it for a tasting :slight_frown:

My target will have to be happy with a mini growler of Hop Venom as an extra I guess

Picked up 170oz yesterday. With an impenetrably whale-loaded "Wants" list, I'm concentrating on quality locals and "has not-hads". Still not posting real hints until March!

Preemptively, if whoever gets that box wants to get together a tasting group, holla at ya boy.

I never realized until now how quick you can end up having many many ozs. Also rather depressing when I realize that due to said speed of the ozs adding up I've probably drunk many times over my body weight in coors banquet beer.

Yeah, the ounces do add up when you're walking around a store with a shopping cart. Just ask my debit card.

:grins: tell me about it the couple who run my local bottle shop were laughing at me as I started my stack on the counter since I normally just drop in for a bottle or at most two. The laughed even harder when I returned the next day to buy the rest of the stuff I couldn't stick into and haul with my chrome bag.

They have a kid on the way so I was happy to support them a to. Who said beer is t good for children... Look at me now

Glad most are new to you. We share a lot of the same distribution so I definitely went locals heavy with this one.

So is it customary to only send one 12oz bottle of a certain beer? Or, should you send 2, in case they like it or want to share? I had intended on sending two of any 12oz beers..

On the 12oz bottles I am sending doubles. They don't count torwards the BIF total, but what the hell. It gives them one to drink and one to sit on or share. I do that with any trade I do though barring that the 12oz isn't rare itself and I only HAVE one.

I don't think there are any rules to "Box" etiquette as long as you meet the BIF minimum, so everyone is going to have there own touch to the box.

That's a good idea with the 12 oz singles. This was my first BIF but I'll definitely remember that next time.
