Stout BIF Round IV

    Most on here know what stouts are and during these cold months in the North we tend to drink more as more are available. This is the third time for this BIF here is the link to all 3 Hints & Hauls page

    Here are the details:
    • 144 oz minimum
    • Beers must be listed on Beer Advocate as a Stout, American Stout, Russian Imperial Stout, etc..
    • Beers must have a minimum rating on Beer Advocate of 85 or higher.
    • Try to hit wants if possible, or beers that otherwise may not be available to your target(seekabrew.com)
    • Noobs are welcomed but will be required to ship out one week earlier than everyone else & may require a sponsor

    Anyone interested, please respond to this thread. I will be capping this at 30-40 participants or by December 21st with targets going out the 23rd or 24th(maybe, might be a little to hectic at work during this time so may be delayed). Looking at a February 1st - February 7th shipping window, giving a little bit over a month to gather beer

    Priority will go to those who participated in round 3

    I'm in (<3 the stouts!), but just wondering: With shipping in Feb, will cold weather be an issue? IIRC there was almost a solid month last winter where in much of the country it was too cold to ship anything.

    I'm very concerned about this as well. Since I'm still working through some of my stouts from round 3, I wouldn't mind pushing this round off until more like April. I could just as easily skip this round and regret the decision every day until the last haul has been posted, but I'd rather not. Thoughts?

    edit: April shipping date, I'm not that much of a procrastinator.

    I'm in for whenever. Because of the weather, maybe we should just keep it in the South and Cali. We could just send Bomb, Huna and BT back and forth. :grinning:

    I'm voting for the sooner the better also, but seem to be in the minority, as I just want to destroy a porch for Christmas.

    Sorry that you missed out on the 12 Days BIF! It might not scratch the itch of destroying a porch yourself, but you're of course welcome to lurk in there as we each open a new 'gift' each day for roughly two weeks starting with xmas. It promises to be a good time.

    At the risk of being premature, it looks like we have a pretty good consensus for a spring (I suggested April?) shipping date. @bbpro47, do you want to still do targets as you suggested, with a much wider window; or push the whole concept back a bit? (Or option C: tell me to F off, also definitely a possibility)

    If there is a spot for a BIF new guy, I'd like one. The later date sounds good to me.
    I have no problems sending early since this would be a first for me.
