It's amazing how many folks drink stouts in the summer-- me included. Just take look at the "What are you drinking now" post. And it's no anomaly. I've been observing this throughout the summer!

I always find it mildly ironic that folks won't drink a 6%-7% stout in the summer because it's too "thick"/"filling", but they'll crack open an 8+% imperial IPA no questions asked. Just because it's roasty and mildly viscous doesn't mean it's actually filling you up any more than any other drink -- it's an illusion. From a calorie perspective, that big, bad DIPA is way more filling than a bottle of Sammy Smith's.

I never understand why people drink different sorts of beers depending on the time of year. To me, beer is beer.

Then again, I order hot coffee instead of iced coffee when it's 85 degrees out.

Civilization rocks. There is always a way to chill beer. Stouts are drinkable year round.

Stouts are great any time. I'll drink a pumpkin ale in the spring too.

I'd drink hot coffee in 100 degrees; Iced Coffee is an abomination of nature.

Air conditioning, pools and cold beer makes it okay to drink stouts during the summer. I taste beer with my tongue, not a calendar.

I wish Founders Milk Stout was not a part time (fall) release.

I've been craving this local heavy Belgian dark spice beer called Violin Monster all day. Certainly not "seasonally appropriate", but won't stop me from consuming one as my next brew of the night.

I believe you meant to type "Founders Imperial Stout". Honest mistake

The way people crank the airconditioner I also bring a sweater with me in the summer. I appreciate wanting to enjoy the limited release offerings when possible but an IPA over a stout? Inconceivable!

Oops. I actually meant Founders Breakfast Stout which is released on a limited schedule.

That seasonal BS is the main reason I dread Summer. I not only want a Stout all year round, I want it to be Imperial style.

You probably subconsciously meant (even if you didn't) that you wish Cream of the Rock Milk Stout was a seasonal release, and not taproom only. Mighty tasty beer.

I like to drink with the seasons. Not all the time but most of it.

    Enjoy
