Stout tasting-what do I need

    hey everyone!!

    My first post of what I hope is many to come

    I'm trying to line up an epic stout tasting for a few good friends to sample some of the best stouts out there

    I've got some good ones lined up

    Mocha Wednesday
    parabola
    Kbs
    Bcbs
    Sunday morning stout
    BA speedway
    No rules
    bb plead the 5th
    abyss
    Dark lord
    abraxis


    Is there anything that u feel I need to add to the lineup?

    That is a pretty nice list. Add? :confused: I would get rid of 5 or 6 of them. Unless all your friends are Robert Parker types it will be hard to appreciate them all. (because of palate fatigue and drunkeness) Maybe break it up in to two tasting on different days?

    That's way too much for a tasting, send half to me. Seriously though, if you are tasting that many then you'll need several hours, otherwise after five or so in a row, you need to give your palate a rest or it all blends together.

    Consider a tasting of four or five BA stouts and then another night of four to five non BA stouts.

    You've got a great line up. Don't worry so much about what's missing and just look forward to a great night with friends. Part of the fun of tasting with friends is sharing what you think are great beers.

    Anyone not appreciative of what you've laid out has gone off the deep end of beer snobbery.

    I think you have selected some of the best, due to the fact that I recognized only four in your list. Very funny replies as well! Listen to John 0721 and concentrate on your friends and having a great time! Reduce your list by half, add some decent food and solve some of the world's problems while you enjoy delicious beer with people you care about. You are on your way to a great evening: enjoy, brother!
