Bought a can of SHIT the other day. It had been awhile since I had a Bruery beer... Still pretty solid for a straight bourbon barrel aged imperial stout

That stout sounds super solid. I've never heard of ritual, do they distribute at all?

I know they come around So Cal near Christmas time but regardless I can name at least 4 liquor stores where they have at least 6 variants from multiple years sitting many discounted just to move them. I've been found of at least the Elijah Craig 12yr but a little too pricey ($30) for what they are.

Ya I do rem member hearing about the steep price. I'd be willing to give them a go probably but for the ticket I should probably just ball out and make a trip to the Tahoe area out of it

I guarantee if you're located anywhere in CA you should be able to find them at a bottle shop/liquor store somewhere within a 25 mile radius of you. I remember fondly pigging out on them at Stone's tasting festivals about a decade ago. Well rounded easy going but a bit thin for what I like in big BA stouts.

Hey traveling sucks these days and I'm sure a road trip over there esp now is real nice these days and we are approaching ski season. They may have changed the name of Squaw Valley (likely the resort closest to that Truckee area) but I'm pretty sure the ski resorts will be a little more free functioning than say March of this year.

    Cheers

I live in a weird beer no mans land up here in the northwest corner. I've never seen this stuff around but I'd bet one of the better shops could order it. I'm in no real hurry to try it but its on my radar as a well regarded localish stout that isn't trying to taste like a candy bar

Burgeon has a new stout in distro today (SD). Dutchman's Rose. The base dutchman is really well done IMO. This version is aged 2 years in four roses barrels with steady state coffee and Ugandan and Madagascar vanilla added. Looking forward to this one!

Steady State is probably my favorite coffee roaster in the state. Would love to get my hands one some of this.

People have hit most of the ones that immediately come to mind, but Pure Project makes some really great ones. Chocosarus Rex is a favorite.

Not sure whatever happened to Tioga-Sequoia Brewing out near Fresno/Modesto area. But a couple years ago, I saw a bottle of Cake Rush, limit 1. Picked it up and really was blown away. One of the finest stouts I ever had, that came out of left field. I was looking for that beer and some others like Midnight Lightning, but no go. Person on shift had no info on this.

All I can do at this point is get some fresh Oskar Blues Ten Fidy.

The BA version of Ten Fidy in the Bay Area was impossible to get. It just isn't here.

Another great stout that I miss. Hope to see it again. Underrated IMO.

Anytime would be a good time for a release of Class X. I’m willing to bet it’ll be around same time as the Citra release. But only at the source.

I will add Societe’s The Butcher to this list. I visited Societe on the way home from ABC and would enjoy their IPA’s. But occasionally would get a pour The Butcher. It’s now out in cans. Go get some.
