One spot not noted already, Harvest Market. Great option for grab and go breakfast, good breakfast sandwiches and really good pastries.

Skip Idletyme and hit "The Bench". Right down the street. Great Food and Taps....

If not able to get down to Waterbury and want to stay in Stowe again for dinner, highly encourage Doc Ponds.

If you are there with kids who like pizza Piecasso is worth going to. Right across from the Alchemist and they have Heady Topper and Sip of Sunshine cans as well as a few other decent beers. Cool bike path in Stowe too that runs behind that restaurant (and most of the town) if the weather is nice.

If you like coffee stop at Vermont Artisan Coffee and Tea. It's a big gigantic red barn but really good coffee.

Yeah, just drive up the road past Alchemist away from Stowe and there is a bike rental place or two that are right at the beginning of the path. Easy ride for kids too.

I'm taking a day trip to Stowe next Thursday with my friend. Where do you guys suggest we go besides Alchemist and Ben & Jerry's? Also looking for a good bottle shop to hit while I'm there.

Don’t go to Ben and Jerry’s...it’s in Waterbury and there is no beer there. Read all of the above. I’d hit Doc Ponds for food and killer tap list.

The bench in Stowe has a great tap list and killer food. Waterbury has prohibition pig which has its own beer but also has another great tap list.

For bottle shops I would head to Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury. They will have a slew of stuff, Fiddlehead, Upper Pass, Frost, Lawsons, and a dizzying array of other high quality cans/bottle. Stowe Beverage is OK, but it gets picked over quickly because its proximity to Alchemist.

Directly across from Prohibition Pig. Grab lunch and a pint(s) there as well!

Hit Cabot outlet as well...get to sample all kinds of cheeses and you can buy some more obscure ones to take home you can't find in most grocery stores. Perfect to slice up some good cheese and crackers for when doing bottle shares at the house (or just to snack on yourself).

I preferred Black Back Pub over Pro Pig, for food and atmosphere. Tap lists are awesome most anywhere in the area it seems.
