So after having spent a few days I'm St.Maarten, I, craving some craft but NY flights were killed off. Stuck in Kendall Miami w family and wondering if you've got suggestions for a good beer distributor nearby with good local stuff that I can't get up here in NY. TIA!

PS looks like I'm gonna have to check luggage anyway so I can make a light haul

At the risk of sounding like a smart ass, have you tried the "Places" section of this site? It's the first thing I do when I know I'll be going somewhere (which is often as a pilot .

Any way I think there is a World of Beer near to you. If you want to cab it there's a really good brewery closer to downtown.... Forget the name but its in an artsy district where everything is graffitied to hell and back.

"Places" should also have bottle shops listed as well.

Check out the nearest Total Wine for a large variety of FL distro or if you have access to a car, take a ride to Mendez Fuel (probably 20 minutes or less depending how far out in Kendall you are). Good luck!

Thanks. My accommodating family know of the total wine place.

And no , did t sound like a smart see, I actually knew of "places" but only assumed it as for restaurant and pubs, not stores. So I learned something! Thanks for the advice!

In Kendall you have two nearby total wines(Kendall and pinecrest). As for craft beer bars/restaurants you have places like world of beer at town and country and dadeland, but restaurant wise Kendall isn't great for craft beer. If you have a car then you can reach a ton of places like south miami, coral gables, wynwood, and Oakland park/ft lauderdale any there range from 15-45 minutes away.

Mendez is a good recommendation as well, though total wine gets roughly the same stuff. Mendez charges a few dollars more I feel but they also have growlers

Got some category 3 and funky Buddha hop gun tonight at total wine near Kendall.

By Monday, we'll be in Venetian Shores, so will look for bottles there.

Thanks again! Hoping to get a few more cans near Venetian or will see if Mendez is on the way from Kendell to Venetian

So in Kendall again today, I guess the better question to ask is what local bottled IPAs can I looked for around here that I can't get up north?

Just had Hop Gun, Due South category 5 and Cigar City Invasion (which may be available in NY) but I got anyway. Anything local I should look out for that is only in FL?

Does it have to be local and only in FL? I would pick up some Fat Head's Head Hunter while you are there. It's a great IPA that is distributed in FL but not in NY. I somehow am always able to find it pretty fresh when I am down in FL.

That's even better. I'm less concerned about it being local bit more into looking for stuff that I can't get in New York. Thank you for the recommendation.

I do believe Mendez gets a significantly higher selection of Progressive's Portfolio (Shelton), plus a higher focus on local breweries (in crowlers and bottles)
