So am I the only one who thinks it's odd there's been no discussion of strong ale fest and its less than a week away?

    Who's going?
Is there a preview list (subject to change) like in past years? @rekrappy
What's the story on food this year?

This will be my first visit to the new Avery so I'm excited!

Going as well. Last year was frigid, but a blast. Looking forward to seeing the new brewery.

No. It's Colorado, which I've found is similar to Oregon in that there's a lot going on, but not a lot of talk about it online. I find myself being the first to add new breweries and bars too; despite their being open for months.

Anyway. I just added it, and the rest of Avery's 2015 events, to the calendar: http://www.beeradvocate.com/events/info/73262/

I've heard that the festival will be entirely outside in the large parking lot (unlike the alley fests). Glad to hear that since Strong Fest + Stairs = Not a good idea

OR and CO are fun, beautiful states with too much fun shit to do!

I am not going to Strong Ale, I never remember about this one... it's a weird time of year for me I guess. Maybe next year!

Who did you hear this from? I hope you're wrong as it's supposed to snow Friday and won't be too warm on Saturday.

    from "Avery people"

Since it's a rain or shine event I would suspect that they would have tents like they normally do. That's a guess though.

Any idea how many tickets were sold compared to last year?

Is there a list out there yet? I remember a couple years ago Andy published a list the week before.

They always post a preview list on their facebook page a couple days before each fest. My guess is you'll see it later today or tomorrow.

Is it just me or has the quality of the lineup decreased with the price increasing? First off don't get me wrong as there are some solid beers listed with the potential of more to come but if I compare this to how it was only 3 years ago it's a bit disappointing IMO. One of the things I enjoyed most about this fest was the amount of non distro beers you were able to try (surly, alpine, cigar city, allagash, etc). Either way it'll be a great time but does anyone else feel the same way?

I am looking forward to some 2006 Beast though.

Last year was my first Strong Ale Fest, so I don't have much in terms of comparison, but Odell's selections are disappointing. Lugene is a delicious beer. I keep it almost always stocked in my fridge when it's in season, but that's exactly why I'm disappointed. I can walk into the Total Beverage down the street right now and pick up both Lugene and Tree Shaker.

That's fine for your basic beer fest, but for a specialized event, you'd think Odell could bring something unique. I've seen Odell host tappings of Lugene variations in Texas and Arizona, so why not at least bring one of those versions? Maybe even something from the Woodcut series. Anyway, that's my one gripe. There are some beers I'm really looking forward to tasting. The rum barrel-aged coconut porter sounds legit, and it will be an awesome time. Last year was a blast, and I'm sure this year will be no different.

The list is still in draft (with typos ) so maybe there is more to it. But I was feeling a bit the same that the list was a bit boring and very local. The ones I'm most curious about are the names I don't recognize like the one offs from Oskar Blues, or from Pizza Port.
