By the time I got the email from Être it was already sold out! Not sure how many of the ~200 they got. How many did the web shop have for sale?

    Any webshop members have details?

Also, curious about the base beer. Alvinne? "Quadrupel X"? (¿Qué?)

Etre had 12 I believe... at least that's what it said when I looked.
I hadnt seen it on the struise webshop... not like they send out emails or post when they update theirs. :slight_frown:

I popped on to Etre and got one about ten minutes before they posted that they were available on Facebook. When I got mine they had 8 available. I haven't seen them on the Struise webshop yet, though a few will probably pop up eventually.

Etre says there are about 240 bottles though I'm not sure if that's an accurate number. De Struise has said they were planning on selling 215 bottles at the ACBF festival.

Yeah they had around 200, I was told when I was at Alvinne, but I did not want to pay 100€ for a bottle, even though it was for a good cause, too rich for my blood, though I know a lot of people bought 1 or 2.
I opted to buy a box full of cantillon, fantome and destruise and de molen stouts instead:slight_smile:

I was not really a fan of it, it was sort of like a barleywine, which, to be fair, I am not a fan of.
It was very syrupy and sweet with a huge alcohol presence.

Etre said 240 bottles. Label itself says 216 bottles...

I'll go with what the label says then, though it's funny that the ACBF flyer says they're selling 215 bottles. Who gets to keep the extra?

Q: Was the 5² that was bottled bourbon barrel aged too, or just the CBC keg(s)?

I saw three left on Etre Gourmet the other day but couldn't pull the trigger. If I add on shipping and everything, it will be $200 for a bottle. I'll be said for missing the chance to try it, seeing it can pull a big white whale or go up to $1000 one day but right now, my wallet thanks me.

I had a 3oz pour at ACBF for 2.5euros, and after that there was no way I could pony up 100 euros for a 750mL. Even if it's 1 of <200 available to the public. I did see one person walk away with almost a full case, ridiculous...

Considering the reviews for it are mediocre and it just looks kind of gross in general I think it's a stretch to assume it will become some legendary bottle. A low bottle count and huge price tag doesn't necessarily equate to a 'whale' or whatever.

I'm curious to see Struise reply. I've sent an email and asked via Facebook. However, they don't often reply to emails and when they do acknowledge, sometimes the information seems to change.

For example, when the web shop came back online. They sent an email out describing the fundraiser and essentially stated they were hoping to perk interest about the product. At that time they said it would be 4 weeks until the beer was ready. In that same email, they said they were expecting 240 bottles. Half to be sold at the fest, half to be sold via "auction" on their webshop.

A recent Facebook post with their flyer about the fest indicated only 216 bottles only to be sold at the fest.

Maybe there was so much interest in buying the beer at the fest that they decided to sell it all and not worry about then potential problem "actioning" would cause? Again, this is just my observation and assumption. I too would like to know more about it.

Mediocre? Has the new number system instead of lettering system made the level of mediocre increase?
On this site it's a 4.65 average with 4 reviews. That's more than mediocre.
On the other site it's a 90 overall. Maybe I'm missing something or just caught up in the mystery/hysteria/desire.
