Anybody know what's up with this new release's high pricetag? (i.e. ≈€35 on EtreĞourmet…) Anybody had a bottle yet?

The high price is probably due to the fact that it took 4 years to go from brewing to bottling.

It's a pretty rare thing for Robert to bump his prices up that much. I got it from my local beerstore at €17 a bottle. Still fairly steep.

Cracking a bottle in a tasting on Saturday. I'll link to my review here.

I had it on tap at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration, and it's really good. There was no description on it at all and they were so swamped I didn't ask what it was. That it's partly wine barrel aged explains the slight sourness I got.

Figured just an arbitrary markup, thanks.
I am aware, but ≈$45 is pretty extreme, hence my curiosity. (Pannepot Grand Reserve takes ≥ 2 years from brewing to bottling and costs significantly less…)

Anybody know how much it's going for on Struise's Webshop?

The description still hints at a more laborous brewing/fermentation process than pannepot grand reserva. Im guessing they are 750s too? How much is a pannepot GR 750? Mark up is playing a big roll here. Must be somewhat limited too.

It's not on the Struise webshop at the moment. In fact it hasn't been updated in months.

And no, there are no Pannepot GR 2005/2008 750s. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the only version of Pannepot that ever made it to 750 was Wild and possibly a regular vintage.

For reference: Pannepot GR was sold for €3 a bottle (33 cl) on site and for slightly more in beer stores.

Hoping this worked... Reserva was in a 750 at least at one point.

Can't spot it in the pictures, but I'll take your word for it. Chances are they were a US exclusive, Struise tends to do that sometimes.

Oh there it is, regular Reserva. Yeah, I didn't know about that, but I'm fairly sure Grand Reserva never made it to 750.

Pannepot Grand Reserva 2005 made it into 75cl bottles. Don't know what they sold for when released, but they were going for 30 euro in Amsterdam about three years ago.

I just had a bottle. It"s a fantastic beer. It reminds me A LOT Allagash's Curieux though, so I'm not quite sure how this is a quad and not a tripel. The one massive downside to it is the price, $43 at Eagle Provisions in Brooklyn, NY. At that price, it's a once only purchase. I'd take Curieux over this any day, and that's with the admission that Allagash's big bottles also are overpriced.

I just found this for $29.99 at Julios, it seemed expensive but apparently it's cheap compared to what others have found.

Had it on two occasions...not all that impressive imo. For the price listed on Etre, just buy 12 bottles of Pannepot...

Found mine in Indiana too. I'm pretty satisfied with what I have had from Struise so far so I figured, why not? Cost was $29.99. My friends have discovered quads so this may be a treat in the near future.

As far as the price goes, I'm sure it has to do with it taking four years from brew to bottle. From the reviews I have read, it sounds tasty
